Hey thurrrr.

I'm bringing you an "All-American Girl" outfit today in honor of the arrival of summer! I should have probably saved this outfit for the Fourth of July but I got impatient and decided to post it early. (: I absolutely love this red and white striped Oh Sweet Joy headband from Gypsy Threads--it's very retro, 50s style! Also, I've been obsessed with these Castro Sunglasses from LuLu*s--I've literally been wearing them every day since I got them because they're so cute! I don't often find many sunglasses that fit my face perfectly and these fit them to a T!

Sometimes when you've had a long day or week, you just need to unwind and indulge yourself in some comfort food. For me, my go-to comfort food is sushi, sushi, sushi. I love any and all sushi--raw fish, deep fried, pickled plum, you name it. The other night we had a girls night and made ourselves some homemade California rolls. I don't wanna brag or anything, but they were sooo DELISH. There is something about eating something you made yourself that makes it taste that much better.

Maybe I should take on the art of sushi making as a career.
Ariel dreams of sushi, perhaps?

Cheers.

Well well well.
Monday, we meet again.

Mondays are always hard to greet, especially when you've had a great weekend. We had a blast this past Saturday because we got to go to a little Carnival up in Eagle Mountain to celebrate their Pony Express Days! We went with Lauren and Jessica + their husbands, ate food, rode rides, and partied hard (maybe a little too hard for Jessica and Dallin's stomachs, haha).

Carnivals hold such a special place in my heart because they hold such fun memories for me! When I was a kid, I used to count down the days until the fair would roll into town because it would be THE social event of the year. I'm kind of a hardcore kid at heart when it comes to rides because I will go on any and all rides (no matter how sketchy or scary looking they are). Connor would rather opt out when it comes to carnival rides (he got sick last time we went, boo) but lucky for me, Lauren's fab fiance Kevin, was my ride buddy and we got to be little kids together while our significant others were our parents, waiting for us after we got off each ride. Also, I stayed away from the games because I learned my lesson with the Carnies last time. Read all about that HERE.

We ended the night watching fireworks, although we chose a not so great location to watch them from by accident because it was so far away, but it was still such a good time with good company. It was nice switching things up a bit for date night and I always love spending time with my girls, even though we were missing our R & B to our #RABLJ.

A Spring Affair w/ Feral

Monday, June 2, 2014

Watch: c/o Feral Watches
Cardigan: c/o Aeropostale - Bethany Mota Collection
Top: c/o SWELL
Skirt: c/o Dress Up
Heels: c/o Lime Lush Boutique
Flower Crown: Claire's

I know it's the second day of June but since summer doesn't officially start until the 21st we can still celebrate spring right?

I've been obsessed with Feral Watches for quite some time now so I was so excited for a chance to work with them! I'll admit, I may or may not be having a spring affair with them, due to the fact of how much I love their watches, especially The Jane. I'm wearing The Jane in Brown in today's outfit and it's my newest favorite accessory! It goes with everything and anything--you can dress it up or dress it down. I love it because it's not your typical "plain Jane" watch. This vintage inspired double-layer wrap-style watch has a fine balance of class and boldness. Not only do Feral Watches look amazing, but of course they're practical because they'll help you arrive anywhere stylishly on time OR fashionably late. (;

Cheers.

The Woman Project: Lauren Conrad

Friday, April 25, 2014

Today, I'm excited to be a part of an amazing post series called The Woman Project! Each blogger participating chooses a woman we identify with and pay tribute to her on our blog by explaining why they inspire us and channel their style into an outfit. I'm all about role models so I think this series is so empowering and fun!

The woman I am inspired by the most, both by her style and accomplishments, is LAUREN CONRAD. I've been a fan of Lauren since she first appeared on the Reality TV show, Laguna Beach. She was a cute, girl next door who was down to earth and had big dreams. She was the underdog--the girl who was in love with a boy she would never end up with. We were able to follow a big chunk of her life via MTV as she moved from Laguna Beach to The Hills. She experienced heartbreaks, job drama, and backstabbing friends. She was so relatable!

It's amazing to see how far Lauren has come since her Reality TV days. She's written novels, founded The Little Market, runs a blog, traveled the world, gotten engaged, and of course created her own line of apparel. It's so inspiring to be able to see a small town girl like her, accomplish so much in her life at such a young age. I love how despite her fame and fortune, she still holds that girl next door persona that made America fall in love with her in the first place.

Now let's talk about Lauren's style. Seriously, this girl is my fashion guru. You guys have no idea how many of my outfits have been inspired by her. I don't think I've ever seen her wear an outfit that wasn't amazingly perfect! I decided to recreate a super cute spring outfit of hers that is one of my favorites.

Above is a side-by-side comparison of our outfits--What do you guys think? I'm the one on the right if you guys couldn't tell us apart (I mean we're basically twins haha I wish) ;)
Keep scrolling down to see a closer look at my inspired outfit, as well as a bunch of my favorite looks by Lauren!

Below are some of my favorite looks on Lauren. She has a love for floral patterns, polka dots, bright colors, and of course, braids! How can you not love this girl's style? I'm obsessed.

The Woman Project series continues tomorrow on my girl, Gentri's blog! I've already seen a sneak peek of her post and you're definitely gonna want to check it out when the time comes. You won't be disappointed.

Who are some women you've drawn inspiration from?
I'd love to hear them in the comments below!!

Have a great weekend, friends!

Cheers.
