Last day of school.....EVER.

Welp, folks.

Today is officially my last day of school.
EVER.

After 5 years of elementary school, 3 years of middle school, 4 years of high school, and 5 years of college, I am dunzo with tests, papers, projects, and grades.

I'm technically not a graduate yet because commencement is on the 24th, but if I can simply stay alive until then, I'm gold. You'll probably want to slap me in the face after I say this but, I have absolutely NO finals. I was only a part-time student this semester and I already finished my two block classes a month and a half ago. I've only been TA-ing for an Intro to Film class since, so I haven't had to take any tests, just had to grade them (which is still a bit of a hassle, but oh well).

It still hasn't sunk in that I'm graduating from college.
I guess it'll just be one of those things that will hit me one day out of the blue when I'm sitting on the couch with nothing to do.

Well, it's been real BYU.
Lots of memories to thank you for.
I'll probably do a "Best of" BYU edition post sometime soon to highlight my favorite moments here at the Y. It's always fun to relive memories from when you were young and stupid, right? ;)

Halloween, circa 2009

If you haven't submitted a question for my upcoming Q&A video, leave a comment below with anything you want to ask me! Personal, blog-related, and random questions are all welcomed!

Cheers.

La la la, Whatever.

TGIF! Today, I'm guest posting on Mindy Mae's Market's blog--woohoo! Check out my post HERE. I'll be posting the same outfit to my blog sometime next week, so check back later for more details on that! xx

Necklace: c/o Pure Impressions

In the words of Hot Chelle Rae,
"It's been a really, really messed up week."

I got called into work on Monday which is usually my day off, Connor got attacked by his evil appendix on Tuesday (read all about that here), we were in the hospital all day on Wednesday (the surgery went well--thank you all for your good vibes!), and I spent yesterday catching up on school/blogging and running errands. And to top it all off? The Pretty Little Liars spring finale was a LET DOWN.

wah wah wah.

But you know what?

WHATEVER.

The week is finally over. I'm moving on.
Now it's the freakin' weekend.

and I'm ready to party.

and when I say party,
I mean, hang out in my sweats, eat junk food, and watch March Madness all day.
I obviously know how to party.

Hope everyone had a good week to make up for my rather sad one!

*******************************

I mentioned it above but I want to say it again:

THANK YOU
to everyone who wished Connor well and kept him in their thoughts!
I was so overwhelmed by all the nice comments everyone left on my blog--you guys are seriously the best. The best part of this meh week was realizing the amazing people Connor and I have in our lives. In the 16 hours we were in the hospital, we had numerous visitors. We came home to a table and fridge full of groceries courtesy of Connor's amazing brother and sister-in-law. We got dinner brought to us by one of Connor's best friends.

We seriously appreciate every text, phone call, comment, and good vibe that was sent our way.
LOVE YOU ALL!!!

Cheers.

My husband hates my pants

Monday, March 10, 2014

Pants: c/o toADORN
Hat: Cotton On [similar]
Necklace: c/o LuLu*s
Heels: Go Jane [similar]

There will always be that one piece of clothing that your significant other will disapprove of. Sometimes you're able to change their opinion by showing how cute they can really look when styled correctly (my husband now adores my combat boots, woop woop), but other times, there is no such luck.

My husband hates (well, dislikes--hates just sounds more dramatic) my harem pants.
He thinks it makes me look like a genie.
Apparently, genie's aren't stylish.

Oh well,
despite his criticism,
I still looooove harem pants.
and it's okay if he doesn't like them.

Because marriages are boring if you agree on everything.
There has to be that little opposition to keep things interesting.

and in this case,
it's my harem pants.

:)

I'm back from the land of Disney

I'm baaaaaaaaaack!
Oh, what an amazing weekend I just had!
If you read my post from last week, you'll remember me talking about a mystery getaway Connor had planned for us for Valentine's Day!

Well, that mystery getaway ended up being a road trip to California, more specifically, DISNEYLAND!!!
Yes, my husband took me to DISNEYLAND for Valentine's Day.
Aaaaaahhhhhh.

If you've been following my Instagram, you're probably already sick of all the Disney-related pictures I've been posting (I should apologize but really, I'm not sorry. whoops!). If you're not a follower, don't sweat--I'll be doing a recap series on my trip within these next couple weeks! I'm excited to share our amazing adventures we had with all of you! Seriously, I'm so sad the trip had to end but sooner or later it's always back to reality...
I just wish reality wasn't so dang cold right now.

Cheers.

I'm being kidnapped for Valentine's Day...

Cardigan: c/o toADORN
Dress: c/o LuLu*s
Headband: J. Crew [similar]
Heels: Madden Girl

Yep, you read right.
My husband is blindfolding me, throwing me in the trunk, and driving to an undisclosed location for Lover's Day.

Just kidding.
Sort of.

When we got hitched, my husband and I decided to take turns planning Valentine's Day every year. Last year, I kind of set the bar high by turning our tiny apartment into an intimate, private restaurant that served our favorite Thai food and homemade chocolate-covered strawberries.

Last year's set-up:

I went a little crazy with the hanging streamers but hey, Connor was speechless. :)
Okay Ariel, get off your high horse now.

This year, Connor has decided to take the surprise element to a whole 'nother level. He has not told me anything about what we are doing for V-day. A funny fact about Connor is that he cannot keep a secret from me. I swear, I don't bully them out of him, he just tells me everything! (just kidding, sometimes I'm a bully)
So I've actually been extremely impressed with how well he's been holding up! Of course, to relieve some of the stress, he's told pretty much everyone else (his co-workers, our friends, even MY BOSS) where and what we are doing.

So yesterday, he finally wrote me this adorable note:

"Ariel,

[insert cheesy pet name here], I wanted to do something extra special for you this year for Valentine's Day! Since we have been together I have been uptight with money and often turned down opportunities to travel because it is too expensive. So this weekend we are going on a road trip!!! Now I won't tell you where we are going until we are out of Provo, but I realize that you need time to prepare so below are listed some points that you can use to pack.

-We will be gone for 5 days and 4 nights
-It will be warm where we are going (it is south)
-Bring your running shoes because we might go on a hike
-There will be a pool
-It is supposed to be sunny!! (still pack a sweater!)

I have emailed [your boss] so don't worry about work. We will be leaving at 3:00 PM tomorrow!

[insert cutely drawn heart] U!

-Your Valentine! (Connor Hamilton)"

Yes, he made sure I knew the note was from him (as opposed to another valentine).
Oh how I love this boy.
So basically, my husband is sweetly and kindly kidnapping me.
And I'm totally okay with it.

Ahhhhhh, but the anticipation!!!
I guess I just have to wait till after 3 today to figure out where we are going!

Any guesses?

If you're as curious as I am, you can follow my Instagram to find out where in the world we end up!!!

Happy Lover's Day my lovelies.
And for my homies with a lonely heart this eve, grab some fellow lonelies and party it up like it's nobody's business.

Cheers.
