Oh hey there camo..... again.
It's no secret that I'm kinna sorta obsessed with camo print. I should stop really, but I won't.

You know those pieces of clothing you get that you instantly fall in love with and want to wear all the time, everywhere? This jacket from Fevrie is one of those pieces. I had already liked it when I saw it online but the moment I pulled it out of the box and put in on, I fell in love. It's loose and lightweight, which is perfect for this sunny but chilly weather we have been having in UT. It's so comfy that I could sleep in it (which I shamelessly do).

I would highly suggest heading over to Fevrie and checking out their amazing collection of clothes and accessories! I'm obsessing over these ombre jeans from their shop right now--they're insanely cute and so unique! To help you out I've even got a discount code to share with you all! Just enter the code "auteurariel" at checkout and get15% off. Happy Shopping!

*****************************************

So I know my post title sounds very..... risque..... but I promise it's real meaning is far from that (hahahaha).

The other day, Connor and I took Samson to a park and for the first time we unleashed him and let him roam around at his own will. I know, I know this isn't a very big deal to most of you puppy parents but Samson has a track record of being naughty and sneaking away from us. Once or twice he has slipped out our door when our backs were turned for like 3 seconds and made his way down to the street--which by the way we live right next to one of the busiest streets in Provo. So naturally from those incidents and my near heart attacks of Samson possibly getting run over, we've been a lot more careful with him being leashed and contained.

It's not that Samson is disobedient. Because he knows his sits, stays, and high-fives like a boss.
Samson just loves people.
Like, REALLY loves people.
He wants to say hi and lick the hands of every person he comes across. And I mean EVERY person.

Anyway, since it had been a while since his last "incident" and he's getting older (he turns one in a month, whaaaaaaat???), we decided to trust little Samson and see how he does..... unleashed.

aaaaand he did great!
He chased us around, explored the trees and bushes, and obediently came running back when we called him. There was ONE time when he spotted a group of people having a little barbecue and joyfully crashed their picnic, but hey. I would have probably done the same thing too soooo I totally get it.

He also made friends with a little puppy named Pinto.
Like the bean. :)
They were too cute together for words.

Oh Samson, you charmer you.

Have a great Thursday friends!

Cheers.

Just one of those weeks...

Cardigan: c/o StyleGirl
Leggings: Madewell
Beanie: c/o Oasap
Boots: Steve Madden c/o ShoeBuy
Earrings: c/o Made By Maru

I'm having one of those weeks.

I caught a nasty cold and I'm at the sore throat phase so every time I swallow there is pain.
The seasons are transitioning so my allergies are going crazy and my nose is constantly stuffed up.
The weather can't make up its mind so it's blazing hot when the window is closed but freezing when its open.
I'm hitting the really intense part of the workout program I've been following for the past six weeks so my muscles are shredded.
I've had bad cases of insomnia so I'm exhausted during the day.
I'm stressing out about the usual financial, future, personal things we all stress out about.
Aaaaaaaand to top it all off: It's my time of the month.

Yayyy.

On the flip side, Samson got a haircut the other day and he's looking really cute so at least he's having a great week.

I really don't like to talk about negative things on my blog because I like to keep things light and fun around here, but when you've been having a week like mine, sometimes you just gotta vent to the Internet ya know? Plus, we are all human and have gone through these types of days, weeks, or months where you feel like the world is hating on you. Anyway, I hope you guys didn't mind reading my sob story and I know next week will be a better one and every day is a new day so I'm still holding my head high and hoping for better things to come!

If you folks do have any extra good vibes to spare though, send them on over here please cus this is my current status:

Love you guys.

Cheers.

Something New...

Monday, February 2, 2015

Cardigan: c/o Oasap
Top: Madison and Sixth
Jeans: c/o Impressions Boutique
Scarf: c/o StyleGirl
Boots: thrifted
Remember that one time I made a New Year's Resolution to GO somewhere new every month?
Well I tweaked it a bit.
I decided to change it to TRYING something new every month!
And I've kept that resolution...
So far, at least :)

In fact, I tried TWO new things this month!
They're nothing crazy but they're been things I've been wanting to do for a while now and I finally got around to making it happen:

1) I made my first purchase at Anthropologie.
2) I made my first purchase at Lush.

I know they're both a bit silly (based on the fact that they're both about buying materialistic things), but to me it was about treating myself to something nice.
(TREAT YOURSELF 2015--Parks & Rec anyone?)

Every time I hit up City Creek Mall in Salt Lake I always, always walk through Anthropologie. I mean that store is what I want the inside of my future home to look like, sans the people shopping and clothing racks. The only downside is that everything in that store is pretty much overpriced. I can never really justify spending $150 on a refurbished globe that was painted on by acrylics.

But this time around I decided hey, why not treat myself to one thing?
So I did it. I treated myself.
and I do not regret buying it one bit.

My second first purchase at Lush, was an Avo Bath Bomb.
For a while now I've seen pictures on Instagram of everybody and their grandmas using these Lush Bath Bombs. The last time I took a bath--I'm pretty sure I was 5--but let's be clear for a sec. I SHOWER ALL THE TIME. I'm not Britt from The Bachelor, here ;) I just never felt the need or urge to take a long hot bath because I would rather be doing other things. Well. Ever since I started the Kayla Itsines BBG workout program, my body's been aching a lot more than usual. My friend Bri has always told me to try out a bath bomb and I just never got around to it until now.

Let me tell you.
My life is forever changed.
Who knew throwing a "bomb" into a tub of hot water would make me feel more relaxed than I've ever been in who knows how long! I'll definitely be a frequent customer of Lush from now on.
My only regret is that I didn't discover the beauty of Lush sooner.

I guess what I wanted to focus on this month was treating myself.
Everyone deserves to treats themselves to something nice every once in a while, right?
Tom and Donna would agree with me :)

Left: my new candle from Anthro--that I light for a bit every night before I go to bed (I blow it out before I go to sleep, of course)
Right: My set-up to try out my new bath bomb. Excuse my inevitable excess of bottles.

So yep, those are my acts of trying something new for the month of January!
I know some of you found that specific resolution of mine interesting so if you decided to do it yourself, I hope you did something pretty cool!

Have a great week!
Also, it's already February, whaaaaaaaaat??

Cheers.

Tomboy at heart

Friday, January 23, 2015

Hat: c/o RoundSquare
Hoodie: c/o Oasap
Denim: Forever 21
Leggings: Madewell
Shoes: Forever 21

I feel like I've always been a tomboy at heart.
I grew up climbing trees, racing my bike around the block, and playing football with the neighborhood kids (I was a bomb receiver). I didn't really know about makeup or hair until I was in high school and my idea of dressing up was wearing a pair of jeans that didn't have any tears or scuffs on them (and trust me, they were not the intentional fashiony kind of destruction).

Honestly, if you had told 13-year-old Ariel that she'd become a fashion blogger one day, I would've laughed in your face...and then ran away dribbling a basketball or something.

Because of my childhood roots, I feel like I sometimes gravitate towards "tomboy-chic" outfits. Don't get me wrong, I still love dressing up in a cute top and fitted jeans, but there is something nostalgic about wearing an oversized hoodie and a snapback that takes me back simpler times.

Today I have RoundSquare to thank for my nostalgic outfit! They're a new and upcoming company that offers super chill merchandise, like beanies and caps. One of their mottos is "What's your angle?" because they believe that embracing our differences is what makes us each uniquely special. We all see the world in our own "angles" and they want you to express that! They don't currently have a website yet, but it's in the works and in the meantime, you can follow them along on Instagram at roundsquareco!

Any fun plans for the weekend?
I'm sensing some Netflix and fast food in my near future.
And I'm usually always right.

Cheers.

1 VEST + 2 WAYS w/ Rachel Sayumi

Wednesday, November 19, 2014

Eyy yoooo!
Today I'm teaming up with one of my bloggy bffs, Rachel, to show you how we each styled a super cute vest from Oasap! Check out my outfit below and then head over to Rachel's blog to take a closer look at how she styled her vest!

Vest: c/o Oasap
Sweater: c/o Oasap
Leggings & Plaid: c/o Oasap
Boots: c/o LuLu*s [similar, similar]

Rachel and I joke all the time about how we are twins because aside from the fact that we are both Japanese, we have A LOT of the same clothes. We also have very similar style and work with a lot of the same companies so naturally, we are always drawn to the same items! When we both ended up getting this vest from Oasap, we couldn't help but do a little collaboration to see how we each would style them! I love how Rachel paired hers with a sweater tunic and riding boots--it gives the look such an edgy boho vibe! Don't forget to head over to her blog, Rachel Sayumi, to take a closer look at her outfit and make sure you say hello while you're there!

Also, how hilarious is it that it's still nice and green over in Oregon where Rachel is and it's already freakin' winter here in Utah. The side-by-side comparison of the weather in these two pictures make me crack up and want to cry at the same time.

Anyway, if you need me I'll be over here getting my Olaf on...

Cheers.

SNOWSNOWSNOW + ShoeBuy

Jacket: c/o SWELL
Top: c/o Oasap
Leggings: Madewell
Scarf: c/o Oasap
Boots: ShoeBuy c/o ShopAtHome

Winter is here, guys.
And it was not shy about its arrival.
Obviously from the pictures, it snowed here last week! It was enough to stick for most of the day, but it melted by the next day, which I am totally fine with. I was actually pretty excited for the first snow of the winter, only because it would be the first time Samson played in snow! He had a blast prancing around in the snow and his favorite part about it? He could eat it!!! He could not get over the fact that snow is lick-able. I wanna get him a little puffer vest to keep him warm when it stars snowing more but Connor isn't a huge fan of the idea. ;)

With the presence of snow, comes the huge need for a good pair of BOOTS. These Steve Maddens from ShoeBuy that I'm wearing today are my new favorites because they are amazing quality and keep my feet nice and warm! I mean, who doesn't love a pair of Maddens? Also, from the looks of Samson below, he approves of these boots as well!

You can get your own pair of these babies and a bunch of other cool shoes from ShoeBuy! ShoeBuy is the world's largest site for shoes and your source for all your footwear needs this winter! Right now they are offering 20% off and free shipping (both ways) with the coupon code: SHOEBUY. Also, if you sign up and purchase through ShopAtHome, you can receive 7% cash back on your order!

They are the hunters. We are the foxes.

Jumper: c/o SWELL
Cardigan: c/o Oasap
Hat: Cotton On [similar]
Necklace: c/o Song Yee Designs
Sandals: c/o LuLu*s

Sometimes I listen to a song for the first time and it doesn't really stick. It doesn't mean it was bad, I think I just have other songs on my mind at the time so I don't really pay attention to it. But then, I listen to it again a couple days later and I'm suddenly obsessed. This totally happened with 'I Know Places' off 1989. It wasn't a song that stuck out to me when I first listened to the entire album but then it played one day and it was like love at second listen ;) It was also co-written with Ryan Tedder which makes me like it ever moooore.

When I first saw this jumper on SWELL, I was super sketchy about how it would look on me. I just never thought I could pull off jumpers but I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it on for the first time! Not only is it super cute, but oh my gosh, it's freakin' comfortable. It's like.....wearing a silky fashionable onesie. Lately I've had really itchy, dry skin from the weather changing (TMI, my bad), and this jumper is one of the only pieces of clothing that doesn't irritate my skin! You'll want to add this SWELL jumper to your wardrobe ASAP--I promise your body will thank you.

Also, if you're loving my Swarovski Baroque Necklace from Song Yee Designs, remember that you can get 10% off any order with the discount code: AUTEURARIEL

Hope everyone is having a good week!
I woke up yesterday with a sore throat so I haven't been having the best time.
Today I'll probably be chilling on the couch with Samson all day, drinking herbal tea and popping throat lozenges. Yep.

Cheers.
