We totes love the fair, as you can tell by our faces.
Hey friends!
So, if you noticed I haven't been posting as frequently lately. I started school a couple weeks ago so I don't have as much free time as I used to! Get this: on Mondays I have class and work from 9am-7pm and on Tuesdays and Wednesdays I have class and work from 9am-9pm..... gross, right? Meaning, when I do finally get home and have some "free time," I want to spend it relaxing with the husband (cus he's muy importante). So please don't hate me! Once I get back in the groove and rhythm of things, I promise I'll be more active in the blogosphere! :)
Anyway, instead of my weekly Feature Friday segment, I thought I'd take today to update you on my life lately! More specifically, share some picture and moments from the Utah State Fair we went to last weekend!
I haven't been to the fair since middle school so I was really stoked to revisit my "childhood." As a kid, excitement was always in the air when September came around because that meant the county fair was in town! It was always the social event to go to and some of my favorite memories from middle school were made there, so I was so excited to make some new memories with Connor. We ended up having a great time walking around and making our heads dizzy riding ride after ride. :)
The infamous "Zipper." My friends and I would ride and re-ride and re-ride this ride until our stomachs and heads couldn't handle it anymore.
Connor thought riding the ferris wheel would be romantic. ;)
Levitation at its finest.
Sooooo there was one thing I was disappointed in at the fair.
Back home, playing the games at the fair were my favorite part. I'd win assortments of stuffed animals that I would take home and have absolutely no room for. So you can feel my disappoint when I get to the fair and find out that instead of the fun-loving game booths I'm used to, there are unappealing, sketchy-looking "game" booths manned by scruff, stinky, and rude men that I later found out are nicknamed "Carnies."
Here's the story:
All I wanted was a cute, little Minion doll. But at every booth we went to, it was almost impossible to win it without spending at LEAST like $20. And it didn't help that the Carnies were trying to hustle us into spending our entire bank accounts while saying they were cutting us a "deal"--oh please. Eventually, Connor ended up winning me a "Mer-Bear"--Yes, a bear wearing a mermaid patterned shirt. Not exactly a Minion, but it's the thought that counts, right?
So moral of the story: It's all fun and games until the Carnies hustle you.
Stay Classy.
