Hello blogosphere.
It's currently 3:30AM and I am writing from the Emergency Room of the hospital.
Don't worry, I'm not the one being treated.
It's the poor husband. :(

On Monday evening, my husband came home from a long day of school (he wrote a 10-page paper in one day--go Connor!) and he mentioned that he wasn't feeling well. His stomach hurt he thought it was from eating unhealthily during the day and his back was throbbing he's always had back problems from sports and it didn't help he was sitting down all day. We both thought it was just from exhaustion so we went to bed hoping he'd feel better after a good night's sleep.

Tuesday (yesterday) morning around 7AM I woke up to the sound of puking sorry if that's TMI. I noticed Connor wasn't in bed so I checked in on him in the bathroom. He said he had been throwing up since 3AM. I offered to help but there wasn't really much I could do. He came back to bed and said he felt a little better, but was overall still feeling sick.

Later that day when I left for class around 1PM, Connor was still resting in bed. When I came back from school around 5PM, he was out cold in bed. He woke up around 6:30PM but I had some friends over to watch the Pretty Little Liars finale (which btw was SO disappointing, but we'll talk about that another time) so he stayed in our room and continued to rest.

Around midnight we were finishing up some last minute business before heading to bed--Connor was applying for jobs and I was doing blog stuff-- when out of the blue Connor said, "I think I might have appendicitis..." It sounded bizarre at first but it all started to make sense. I pulled up WebMD thank you Internet and we went over the symptoms--Connor had pretty much all of them. We then called our friend who just had appendicitis a few weeks ago (I guess it's surgery season cus didn't I JUST get knee surgery like 3 weeks ago??) to see if the symptoms matched his as well--it did. We decided to go to the hospital.

After a CT and some blood work, it was confirmed that Connor had appendicitis.

So now we are just hanging around until Connor can be admitted to surgery which will be around 6 or 7AM.

I definitely did not think earlier tonight (or rather, yesterday night) that we would be here in the hospital but hey, life is full of surprises right? I'm just glad we followed our instinct and came in because who knows what could have happened if we didn't! Connor wants me to go home and sleep since he won't be getting surgery for another couple hours but I kind of made a promise to him over a year ago that I'd be there for him through sickness and health sooooooo, yeah. :)

I'll let you know tomorrow how everything goes. I'm praying that all goes well--I'm trying to stay calm (it helps that I'm half asleep) but the overdramatic side of me keeps stressing out.

Any and all good vibes are appreciated!

Cheers.

  3. Aw no! I'm so sorry to read about your husband. I live in the UK so I'm not sure of the time difference but I think he'll have had the surgery by now so I hope all went well. I've never commented on your blog before and although I don't know you personally I'll still be saying a little prayer for your husband and you too.

  6. Aww i hope he starts to feel better =( I work in a hospital and I swear, most of the people coming in have been for abdominal pain so there must be something going around.

I also love this outfit! I like that it is simple but really cute

  10. Wishing your hubby the best. I am sure he came through the surgery just fine. It seems ridiculous to comment on your outfit after that but you look great. I love your skirt.
