Keep Calm + Float On

Hey Blogosphere!
Well, we've just hit our halfway mark in our visit to Hawaii which makes me extremely, extremely sad because time flew by wayyyyy too fast! There are still so many things Connor and I want to do while we are here & so little time to get them done!
Anyway, I figured since it's the halfway mark, now would be a good time to update you all on the adventures we've been on so far!
I grew up here in Hilo so there aren't many places left for me to explore and discover, but this is only Connor's second time visiting (besides when we came for our reception which doesn't really count because of all the wedding craziness going on) so there was the excitement of fresh eyes and experiences whenever we went to all my favorite spots!

My parents & my aunt welcoming us in the cutest way ever!
Always excited to see this cutie..... Don't know if the feelings are mutual though.....
A reunion with my high school friends is always a necessity when coming home! Whenever I get together with these guys, it's like nothing has changed at all!
I also got to FINALLY meet this precious gem!
SUSHHIIIIII!!!! Whenever I come home I always make sure to go to my favorite dive, Ocean Sushi Deli, at least once. The sushi here is always fresh & so cheap!
I actually tried 2 new food places while here! I tried Pho for the first time ever at Pho Viet!...
...I also went to Sweet Cane Cafe for the first time to try their Acai Bowl that I've heard such good reviews about! And I must say, it lived up to it's expectations because this was the BEST Acai Bowl I've EVER tasted!!! Definitely coming back!
For Fourth of July, we barbecued by the beach with these familiar faces!
Amy & her sister-in-law, Shelby, made this flag cake that tasted just as amazing as it looks!
Can't forget the fireworks!
The rest of the days we spent at one of my favorite local beaches, working on our tans (or rather Connor working on his tan...)
We also hiked to a hidden waterfall my friend showed me a while back. This is one of my favorite places on the island! It's one of those places where you either know how to get there, or you don't!
And of course I didn't forget to fit a couple of rainy walks with my little pal.

So that is what we've been up to so far! Being here really makes me wish summer would never end.
Check again soon and I'll post what we did the second half of our paradise vacation in lovely Hawaii.

Until then, REMEMBER:

Stay Classy.
xoxo.

  1. Love the water. It's so clear. Dont see that too often. Esp in Ga. The cake looked so good! I would've hated to cut it and messed it up tho. At least you got a picture. Family times during the holidays is always so great. I dont know when the last time I've seen fireworks though.
