#cheeeezy :)

Today Connor and I (and Samson) are wearing some sweet new shades from Ltd. Optics! I've featured Ltd. Optics on my blog before (view those posts HERE and HERE) so I was stoked when I found out that they were coming out with some new lines! I'm wearing The Boardwalk in black and I love how it fits my face--it has a bit of a feminine shape to it and is meant for people with smaller faces. What's cool about these sunglasses is that they are made of 7-layer skateboard wood with internal spring hinges and they are finished by hand so every pair has it's own unique touch to it! Connor is wearing The Chameleon in Red and if I do say so myself, he's looking pretty handsome in them :). I love how they combined the look of rubber with wood to create something totally stylish and cool! The frames were a little too big for my face, but it looks great on men! Even Samson is looking pretty smooth in them as you can see in the picture above.

We weren't originally going to have Samson in these pictures but Connor isn't a big fan of posing for photos (this is only the second His and Hers post we've ever done, haha) so I figure if he had someone to pose with, he'd be happier :D I'm obsessed with the little guy so any excuse to have him on my blog I'll take!

Be sure to check out Ltd. Optic's new sunglasses lines!
They're perfect for looking stylish on all the summer adventures that await you!

This past Saturday I finally got to meet and hang out with Marsa from The DayLee Journal! She's one of the first bloggers I started following when I entered the blogosphere over a year ago and we bonded over how we were both asians from Hawaii who were born in Japan! It was a bummer though because she moved to Seattle just as we became good friends so we never got to meet IRL. She finally came back to Utah to visit family so we made sure to sneak in a GNO with Rachel and Lo! You know those people who you instantly click with as soon as you hang out? That's Marsa! :) Miss you already!

I also rode a rocking horse made for big kids this weekend.
Yep.

Here's to another week!

Cheers.

1 Floral Kimono, 3 Looks

Wednesday, March 26, 2014

Here is a closer look at the guest post I did a couple days ago over at Remington Ready! I was so honored to be featured on their blog--they have such a great collection of posts and contributors!

If there is one trend that I am obsessed with this spring, it's FLORAL KIMONOS! They're cute, comfy, and brighten up any outfit you wear it with! Here are three different ways you can style a floral kimono this season. If you don't own a floral kimono yet, check out these ones from PacSun and Forever 21! They're affordable and they've got a great variety of them--I want to buy them all!

[ Look #1: Boho ]

Floral fits in perfectly with the style of "boho-chic." I love the way the solid color of the maxi skirt compliments the floral pattern of the kimono. Many boho pieces are very flowy and loose and this kimono fits that description to a T! Also, you can never go wrong with a floral headdress when it comes to boho fashion!

Floral Crown: Francesca's
Skirt: H&M

[ Look #2: Casual ]

Adding a plain white tee and distressed jeans to a floral kimono definitely dresses the look down. I'm all about being comfortable when it comes to fashion and this outfit screams comfort! This outfit is perfect for going to school, hanging with friends, or simply running errands! It's effortless, but the kimono still gives the look a little pizazz.

Sunglasses: PacSun
Necklace: c/o Wild Butterfly Boutique
Watch: c/o Arvo

[ Look #3: Dressy ]

You can never go wrong layering chiffon with chiffon! I'm obsessed with the way the floral kimono pops on this fancy white dress. The kimono already has a great sophisticated look, so making it look "dressy" isn't very hard! Adding a cute pair of heels and a statement necklace makes this outfit perfect for a date night or going to church--or any dressy occasion, really!

Necklace: c/o LuLu*s
Clutch: c/o LuLu*s
Heels: Go Jane [similar]

I love how versatile floral kimonos are! They are definitely an essential when it comes to your spring wardrobe. Snag them while you can! :)

Cheers.

that Kevin McCallister kid has got style.

Home Alone.
It's a movie we all know and love.
It's in my top 3 all-time favorite holiday movies (Elf and Arthur Christmas being the other two).
It's a movie I watch at least 5 times during December.

This year during my first viewing of the movie, something funny happened.

In the middle of the film, I turned to my husband and said, "I really want that beanie Kevin is wearing!" After I made that comment, I all of a sudden started noticing all the cute outfits Kevin was wearing. "That plaid shirt is so cute." "Awww, I want that sweater!"

"This 8-year-old kid has got some style!!!!"

It's funny because I have watched this movie over 30 times, but only now have I noticed the "fashion" in this movie. Being a fashion blogger has definitely had its effects on me...

My realization got me thinking of a really fun blog post idea: An outfit inspired by Kevin McCallister from the movie, Home Alone, as well as how to get Kevin's look. Yes folks, I was inspired by an 8-year-old Macaulay Culkin. I must be losing my mind. But I cannot deny the fact that I am extremely envious of his beanies and sweaters in the film.
So here we go.

Sweater: c/o Persun Mall
Beanie: Forever 21 [similar]
Jeans: Kendall & Kylie
Moccasins: J. Crew
Necklace: c/o Wild Butterfly Boutique

I love this sweater from Persun Mall! It's nice and fitted, yet still gives my body room to breathe. And who doesn't love some elbow patches? It's also the perfect bright color of red for the holiday season. My moccasins are possibly the most fluffiest, comfiest, cutest things I've ever worn on my feet. They're seriously the best. Check them out at J. Crew!

Funny story about the jeans I'm wearing:

I'm a Nosy Nora when it comes to celebrity gossip (I mean come on, don't tell me you don't occasionally check what scandal Miley Cyrus is involved with at the moment), so one day I decided to check up on the status of Kendall Jenner and Harry Styles "relationship" on my friend, Google. I was scrolling through the most recent pictures of them spotted together and noticed Kendall's jeans were sooooo cute in the photos! The thing I loved most about them was that instead up a zipper and button in the front, the zipper is on the side and the button is inside the jeans! Aka, no awkward, bulky section in the *ahem, crotch area. So anyway, I was at PacSun the other day and voila! Turns out the jeans she was wearing is from the Kendall & Kylie fashion line--and they were on SALE! I of course had to snag a pair of my own and oh my goodness, they are soooo comfortable! I luff them.

Okay, back to Home Alone:
Here are my some of my favorite pieces Kevin wore in the movie (I even added one from the sequel). Below, I put together some items you can purchase to get a similar look! The beanie that Kevin is wearing in the left pictures is the beanie that I really wanted so naturally, I am totally putting the similar one I found on my Christmas List. :)

I hope you liked my silly, yet totally serious Home Alone-inspired outfit post!
I had a lot of fun putting it together and was kind of stoked that I got to blog about one of my favorite movies. :)

What's your favorite holiday movie?
I need to build up my collection!

ps. I have some exciting news! I have been featured in two online magazines!
I did a fun New Year's Eve style guide for The Hunt in their NYE Glossi magazine. View that HERE!
I also was in an ad for Pure Impressions Jewelry in the 5th issue of Afterglow magazine! Yeahhh, I'm in the same magazine as Zoey Deutch and Francia Raisa. NBD. View that HERE on pg. 66!

Arvo Wear x Time Sawyer

Friday, November 8, 2013

Watch: c/o Arvo Wear (Time Sawyer)
Sweater: H&M
Boots: Thrifted [similar]
Necklace: c/o Wild Butterfly Boutique
Beanie: Forever 21 (it's $2.80!!!)

There is something about leather watches that just screams classy.

Arvo is a company that sells stylish and classy wristwatches. They are minimalists so their idea of style is being as simple as possible while still capturing the vintage feel. Their goal is to make sure that their wristwatches are comfortable, easy to manage, and stylish all at the same time.

Okay, you guys all know that those are three things that I LOVE when it comes to fashion. I've said so like a million times in my posts. So of course, I am naturally obsessed with these watches, especially the Time Sawyer! I have seriously worn this watch every day since I got it, it's kind of a problem. I just can't help it if it goes with every outfit that I wear.

Aside from their newest release, the Time Sawyer, Arvo also sells the Timeous Edison and the George Washingtime (don't you just love their play on words?). They also have a variety of colors when it comes to their bands--which are by the way, made from genuine leather. Their watches are also water resistant, have a 3-year battery life, and totally unisex. Meaning you can buy one of yourself and another for your other half so you can be all matchy-matchy. I love that Arvo is based out of Salt Lake City because I am all about supporting local businesses--and all you Utahns should be too!

A little birdie said that if you're super jealous of my watch but are short on moolah, I may or may not have a giveaway coming soon that is sponsored by Arvo. I wonder what the prize could be?
Stay tuned to find out! ;)

Stay Classy.
