I'm back from my MONTH LONG vacation in Hawaii and Japan! Did you miss me?
Adjusting to life back home has been rough. And not because I'm missing the warm beaches of Hawaii and gorgeous views of Japan. The TIME DIFFERENCE is 17 hours between here and Japan so falling back into a normal sleeping pattern has not been pretty. The first week back--I kid you not--I was going to sleep at 10am and waking up at 6pm. It was pretty miserable and I got close to nothing done all week. But with the help of some Sleep Aid and forcing myself to stay awake during daylight, I'm finally snoozing like a normal human being again. IN FACT, my sleep schedule has actually improved! I used to be a crazy night owl before my trip (I couldn't fall asleep before midnight and I'd wake up at 9/10 every day), but now, I'm getting sleepy at 8pm and waking up at 7am! It's actually really weird... but I'll take it. :)
Anyway, so now that I'm back and ready to start blogging again, here is my first Hawaii outfit post! The weather was actually a pain while we were visiting my hometown (it rained a lot a lot a lot) but if you take a 45 minute drive to the other side of the island, you can almost always find sun there. :) That's pretty much what we did the whole time we were there whenever we wanted to go to the beach! It sucked a bit, but at least we were able to escape the rain!
I loved soaking up the sun in my Lime Ricki swimmies! The combination of this solid bralette and striped high-waist bottom is so fun and bold. Also, this cover-up hoodie from Billabong is perfect for just throwing on over your swimsuit on your way to and from the beach! I have a weird body (in my eyes). I've got a flat chest and thick thighs--which makes some clothing hard to wear--ESPECIALLY swimsuits. Having a flat chest is something I've dealt with my entire life, and even though it hasn't bothered me too much, I've definitely had my moments when I wish I were more "endowed." As for my thighs, they're the only "curves" I got from puberty and they've always been pretty muscular from running cross country and track in high school. Because of my body type, I often have trouble finding swimsuits that fit me right. They're either too loose in the chest area, or too tight on my thighs. It's rare that I come across a swimmie that fits my body like a glove.

I was so surprised by how flattering it made my figure look! The suit is shaped perfectly and snug without being suffocating. There are also so many fun details about it, especially the peplum trim! My favorite part is of course, the flamingos. Because why not flamingos? ;) I totally see myself wearing this swimsuit a ton this summer anytime there is a body of water and sun involved. I would highly highly recommend getting yourself one of these babies before they sell out!!!

I feel like spring always gets forgotten about. Everyone thinks it's instantly summer as soon as school gets out and the weather gets warmer, but technically it's not summer until June 21st, aka tomorrow, aka the longest day of the year! Say whaaaat? We are spending tomorrow at Strawberry Days in Pleasant Grove, which I'm really excited about because I've never been to a rodeo before! Is it just me or is there a fair/carnival in a different town every weekend in Utah? I'm totally not complaining though because I loooove carnivals! :)
Anyway, on to this lovely swimsuit! I'm wearing the Drawstring Black One-Piece from Lime Ricki today and I absolutely adore it! It fits me like a glove and the ruffles are perfect for us ladies who aren't as "well endowed" in the chest area. ;) I'm stoked to wear this suit to the beach, lake, and pool all day, every day this summer. I've been on the lookout for a cute black one-piece lately so I'm glad I found this one!
