If you watched my Pinterest Inspired Clothing Haul video, then this romper would look familiar to you! This summer I have love love loooooved using shortalls and rompers as swimsuit coverups. I think they are just a fun alternative to a tank/shorts combo or a dress. I especially have been loving this cream romper from the online boutique, Mint Julep. Not gonna lie, a big reason why I love it so much is because of the adorable pom-poms on the hem! Like seriously, how cute are they.

Cheers.

Oh haiiii there.

I'm getting my 22-year-old Taylor Swift on in today's outfit if you hadn't noticed by now! Every time I put these red sunnies on I can't help but get an urge to dress up like a hipster and make fun of my exes... ;) (uh-uh, uh-uh)

No but really this outfit is so fun and comfy to wear! You really can't go wrong with a white tee and some denim shorts--it's classic beyond classic. I love the pop of color the sunglasses give to the look--I want to go out and buy these babies in every color they come in! Also, I've been taking this fringe purse everywhere I go recently. It's so cute and surprisingly very roomy for how small it looks! Let's just say it's big enough to smuggle some sodas and candy into the movie theater without it looking suspicious. Whoops.
Don't judge.
You know you do it too.

Speaking of movies, it must be a summer thing because Connor and I have seen a lot of them recently! The latest movie we saw in theaters was Jurassic World and it was ahhhhmaaaaazing. I'm kind of obsessed with the Jurassic Park series, like my family owns all the VHS tapes (I FEEL SO OLD SAYING THAT). I even remember my parents going to watch the third one in the theaters but I couldn't go with because I was too young (apparently 10-year-olds are too young to hang with dinosaurs, thanks mom and dad). Anyway, the latest installment definitely lived up to the hype in my opinion, so bravo.

But the real award goes the Bryce Dallas Howard, because any woman who sprints (and I mean SPRINTS) around in heels that much for a film deserves a friggin' trophy, man. For most of the movie I kept thinking to myself, "TAKE OFF THE HEELS, WOMAN!" but she always got away in time from the dinosaurs so it must have worked for her. Also, I almost died laughing when I saw this video of Chris Pratt showing how hard it is to run in heels:

Oh Chris. You're my hero.

Hope your Tuesday is looking cheerful!
Cheers.

Mission Cronut: ACCOMPLISHED

Wednesday, March 4, 2015

Hat: c/o Gypsy Threads [40-75% off everything!!!]
Dress: c/o LuLu*s
Cardigan: c/o Chic Style [similar]
Necklace: c/o Song Yee Designs
Body Chain: H&M [similar]
Watch: c/o Daniel Wellington
Bracelet: c/o LuLu*s [similar]
Booties: Forever 21

I think the first time I ever heard about a cronut was one night when we were watching Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (yes, this was a while ago). A chef named Dominique Ansel was showing Jimmy and Questlove how to make his latest invention: a pastry that combined the beauty of a croissant and a donut..... a cronut. Oh my goodness I fell in love (yes, I tend to fall in love with food a lot, I know) and it was one of those moments where I wished a machine that popped out whatever food was on TV had been invented already. I had to needed to was dying to try it... except there was no bakery near me that sold this delicious creation.

From then on it felt like the cronut was stalking my life. I turned on the TV and a segment on the cronut was playing on The Food Channel. I went on Instagram and an NYC blogger I followed posted a precisely staged shot of a cronut at a cafe. Everywhere I turned I was reminded of the pastry that got away and it made me so so sad and depressed.

As time passed and the craze dyed down, I moved on from my obsession of the cronut.
Life wasn't consumed by my constant cravings for a food I had never even tasted before.

UNTIL.
LAST WEEK.
I was scrolling through Instagram and there it was.
A cronut.
AND IT WAS POSTED BY SOMEONE WHO CURRENTLY LIVED IN UTAH.
My favorite juice lady, Dani, posted it to be exact.

I immediately googled the bakery she said she got it from, placed the address in my maps app, and Connor and I and Samson (this mission required Samson's support of course) zoomed on over to the bakery that supposedly carried the prized pastry.

We arrived at the bakery.
We ordered two cronuts.
And we feasted.

It. Was. HEAVEN.

You know when you dream about a moment for so long and it finally happens and it's better than you ever could have expected it to be?
It was that.

So there you go.
My story of the cronut and how I was able to fulfill one of my dreams.
The only downside: apparently cronuts are kinda pricey so we probably won't be consuming them too often or else our bank accounts will shrink and our bodies will grow.

My precisely staged shot of the cronut:
(I didn't have much to work with, the tables in the bakery were pretty bare)
(eat your heart out NYC blogger)

Hope you all have a cronut-filled day.

Cheers.

Samson, Unleashed.

Oh hey there camo..... again.
It's no secret that I'm kinna sorta obsessed with camo print. I should stop really, but I won't.

You know those pieces of clothing you get that you instantly fall in love with and want to wear all the time, everywhere? This jacket from Fevrie is one of those pieces. I had already liked it when I saw it online but the moment I pulled it out of the box and put in on, I fell in love. It's loose and lightweight, which is perfect for this sunny but chilly weather we have been having in UT. It's so comfy that I could sleep in it (which I shamelessly do).

I would highly suggest heading over to Fevrie and checking out their amazing collection of clothes and accessories! I'm obsessing over these ombre jeans from their shop right now--they're insanely cute and so unique! To help you out I've even got a discount code to share with you all! Just enter the code "auteurariel" at checkout and get15% off. Happy Shopping!

*****************************************

So I know my post title sounds very..... risque..... but I promise it's real meaning is far from that (hahahaha).

The other day, Connor and I took Samson to a park and for the first time we unleashed him and let him roam around at his own will. I know, I know this isn't a very big deal to most of you puppy parents but Samson has a track record of being naughty and sneaking away from us. Once or twice he has slipped out our door when our backs were turned for like 3 seconds and made his way down to the street--which by the way we live right next to one of the busiest streets in Provo. So naturally from those incidents and my near heart attacks of Samson possibly getting run over, we've been a lot more careful with him being leashed and contained.

It's not that Samson is disobedient. Because he knows his sits, stays, and high-fives like a boss.
Samson just loves people.
Like, REALLY loves people.
He wants to say hi and lick the hands of every person he comes across. And I mean EVERY person.

Anyway, since it had been a while since his last "incident" and he's getting older (he turns one in a month, whaaaaaaat???), we decided to trust little Samson and see how he does..... unleashed.

aaaaand he did great!
He chased us around, explored the trees and bushes, and obediently came running back when we called him. There was ONE time when he spotted a group of people having a little barbecue and joyfully crashed their picnic, but hey. I would have probably done the same thing too soooo I totally get it.

He also made friends with a little puppy named Pinto.
Like the bean. :)
They were too cute together for words.

Oh Samson, you charmer you.

Have a great Thursday friends!

Cheers.

Valentine Fashion w/ LuLu*s: Look 3

Tuesday, February 10, 2015

Oh hey Samson!
Outfit c/o LuLu*s

Beanie: c/o Gypsy Threads

Welcome, welcome to Look 3 of my Valentine Fashion Series with LuLu*s!
If you missed Look 1 and 2, you can view them HERE and HERE.

Today's look is for all my single ladies who simply want to spend a chill night out with friends on the notorious day of love. Before I met Connor I would acknowledge Valentine's Day as "Singles Awareness Day" and used it as an excuse to hang out with my besties, Ben & Jerry, and watch depressing movies all night. Until, I realized that just because I didn't have a significant other, didn't mean I couldn't have fun on Valentine's Day! I would round up a group of fellow singletons and we would go out and have fun--celebrating our love of friendship (ermagawshhh I'm so sapppyyyy)!

For this specific outfit I wanted to give off a laid back, but cool vibe and still have a little essence of V-day mixed in--hence the red plaid coat! Is it just me or does my coat look like a chic bathrobe? That's probably why I love it so much hahaha. I kept the rest of the outfit mostly black (to give off a little "rebel" vibe *wink), and added a little fun with these Steve Madden Suede Fringe Boots. I've always wanted to own a pair of fringe boots so I was excited to test these babies out! And no "laid back" look is complete without a chill beanie, which is from Gypsy Threads (who is currently doing 40%-75% off their entire store, just saying).

Just one more look in my Valentine Fashion Series with LuLu*s and then a fabulous GIVEAWAY!
The fourth and final look will be revealed this Thursday, followed by the giveaway on Friday!
Can't wait for you guys to see the last look!
Be sure to tune in! :)

Look 2: Day Date
Look 3: Chill Night Out
Look 4: ???

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Cheers.

My good side... + GIVEAWAY

Monday, February 9, 2015

Top: East & Lo
Jeans: c/o Impressions Boutique
Boots: c/o LuLu*s [similar]
Hat: c/o Gypsy Threads [40%-75% off the ENTIRE STORE!]
Necklace: Fifth & Mae
Purse: c/o Red Buffalo Trading

Does a "good side" really exist or is it all in our heads?
Like does anyone look at a picture of someone and be like, "Oh man, that's definitely her bad side" or "Wow, that's totally his good side!"? I feel like the only person aware of one's good side or bad side is the person themself. But do you want to know what I think about having "sides?" I think it's a load of garbage. You're all freakin' gorgeous--both sides of your face and all. Don't ever let having a "bad side" think you're anything less than beautiful. :D

But I mean, if I had a gun to my head and I was forced to choose a good side...
I would choose my left.
So if your good side is your right side, let's be friends.
(so we never have to argue about who gets to show off their good side in a selfie hahaha)
(;

The purse I'm wearing in today's outfit is from Red Buffalo Trading and it's insanely adorable! Corlie, the owner of the shop, up-cycles vintage pieces of hand made embroidery into unique handbags, laptop sleeves and pillowcases--how cool is that? She collects hand printed textiles on her travels around the world and uses them to make the cutest little creations! I love everything about her Etsy shop!

Cheers.

'Cause I'm a Gypsy.

Dress: c/o Gypsy Threads
Hat: c/o Gypsy Threads
Cardigan: Cotton On [similar]
Boots: Forever 21
Necklace: c/o Song Yee Designs

Kidding.
I'm not a gypsy.
Not a literal one anyway.

I am however wearing a super cute dress and hat from Gypsy Threads Shoppe! Whenever I wear anything from their shop I like to pretend I'm all cool and free-spirited and I sing Shakira's song over and over in my head. Yep. I'm such a poser. No but really, Gypsy Threads is one of my favorite online boutiques because they have the coolest clothes! A lot of their items are super unique and extremely comfy. I could sleep in this dress because it's so flowy and loose! They also have this dress in yellow, as well as this hat in tan so check them out now!

Last night we went to see Mockingjay Part 1 and it was amaaaaaaazing.
I already can't wait for Part 2 next year! When everything is out on DVD I'm going to have a Hunger Games marathon and watch all four movies in a row. Who's in? ;)

Speaking of movies, I forgot to mention that the other night we went to see Big Hero 6! Disney really can do no wrong because I liked it just as much as I liked Wreck-It Ralph (and I like Wreck-It Ralph a loooooot). The little mini-movie before the actual show was probably my favorite one by far too. The puppy in it reminded me of Samson so naturally it stole my heart. :)

Hope everyone has fun plans for the weekend!

Cheers.
