Anyone who has been to or lived in Hawaii knows the pain of going through withdrawals after your trip. Every time I come back from visiting home I instantly miss the beach, the food, and the simple way of living there. I mean let's face it, Utah and Hawaii are pretty much polar opposites. Humidity vs. Dryness. Sea vs. Mountains. Beach vs. Desert. Fresh fruit vs. Fast food. Don't get me wrong, over the years I've come to really love Utah (something I never thought I'd do), but everyone knows there is something about home that holds a special place in your heart.

Anyway, because I'm going through withdrawals, what better way to cope than to wear a t-shirt with all my favorite things about the beach! This Lauren James shirt is so comfy and cute, and it allows me to wear a piece of home everywhere I go. Wearing it makes me even more excited for all the fun summer activities coming our way! Yay!

I hope everyone has a great week!
If you're struggling just imagine yourself on a beach, soaking up the sun and sipping on a bevvy.

ps. HAPPY STAR WARS DAY!
May the Fourth be with you.

Cheers.

Mint Twirl

Tuesday, July 1, 2014

Dress: c/o Oasap
Shirt: Forever 21
Heels: c/o Prima Donna
Flower Crown: c/o LuLu*s
Bracelet: c/o Skinny Pig Designs

Despite the misleading title, today's post has nothing to do with toothpaste and everything to do with this fresh look featuring a mint dress! ;)

This mint chiffon dress from Oasap is so flowy and fun, I can't help but twirl in it every time I wear it (I know I say that about a lot of my dresses, haha)! It's perfect to wear to church, a barbecue, or a girls day out! I love outfits that embody summer and I feel like this one does just that. The color mint really has that "fresh" look to it so it's perfect for anytime you want a look that's light, fresh, and fun! If you want to look even more fresh, adding a flower crown to your outfit always helps. :)

Has anyone been watching the World Cup? I'm actually not much of a soccer fan but Connor had one of the games on the other day and I was just soooooo intrigued with how there are more flops and bad acting than actual soccer playing during the games! I knew that soccer players sometimes fake injuries to waste time and get players carded, but I didn't know how OFTEN it happened! It was actually quite entertaining.

Below is one of my favorite flops ever.

This guy should get an Oscar.

ps. Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian friends out there!

Cheers.

LuLu*s Summer Kick-Off Series: Look 3

Purse: c/o LuLu*s
Sandals: c/o LuLu*s
Necklace: old
Shell Bracelet: c/o Skinny Pig Designs

Welcome to Look Tres of my LuLu*s Summer Kick-Off Series!

It's a Nautical theme this time around and I'm really wishing I was actually wearing this outfit on a boat somewhere! I've been a huge fan of nautical wear this summer so I loved putting this outfit together. I'm loving the pattern on this Just a Twirl Striped Dress and how well it goes with this adorable Side Saddle Tan Purse! Last but certainly not least, you can't complete a nautical look without some stylish sunglasses. I've seriously been obsessed with these Castro Black Sunglasses for the past couple weeks--I wear them with almost every outfit! Now all I need is a boat to hang out on and we're good to go! Thanks LuLu*s!

If you missed it, check out Look 1 HERE (Girly) and Look 2 HERE (Boho) of this series!
and don't forget, I'll be hosting a LuLu*s GIVEAWAY this Friday so be sure to tune in!

Come back tomorrow to check out my fourth look!

Cheers.

LuLu*s Summer Kick-Off Series: Look 2

Monday, June 23, 2014

Dress: c/o LuLu*s
Flower Crown: c/o LuLu*s
Necklace: c/o LuLu*s
Shoes: c/o LuLu*s
Shell Bracelet: c/o Skinny Pig Designs

Here is Look 2 of my LuLu*s Summer Kick-Off Series!

Thanks to everyone who voted on my blog and Instagram for what my next look would be! It was a close one between Nautical and Boho, but as you can see by the pictures, Boho came out on top!

I went for little dressier version of Boho for this look because I couldn't resist the combination of these white ankle strap heels with this mint shift dress, both from LuLu*s! This dress also happens to be insanely comfortable because it's so loose and flowy (is that a word?) so that's a major bonus. Of course, I couldn't resist adding an adorable flower crown to this outfit because I feel like you can't complete a Boho look without one! The color scheme in this crown also compliments the dress so well!

If you missed it, check out Look 1 of this series that features a Girly floral outfit HERE!
and don't forget, I'll be hosting a LuLu*s GIVEAWAY this Friday so be sure to tune in!

We've got Nautical, Edgy, and Dressy still left.
Which look do you think will be next?

Just wanted to give you folks an update on life real quick!
We'll start with little Samson first....
--We've been trying to take Samson on more car rides so he becomes more used to them. We are taking him with us when we drive over 12 hours to Seattle later this summer so hopefully he learns to love them (and by the look on his face, he's getting there)!
--Samson is learning that if he places himself in front of or on top of whatever we are doing at the moment, we'll probably pay attention to him. Smart dog.
--Samson is learning to deal with the fact that I take a lot of selfies, especially ones featuring him. He's obviously not impressed...

--Most of our nights, after the gym and dinner, are spent cuddling up on the couch watching TV shows. We've recently started watching Suits and are totally hooked! (and yes, we do have clothes on under the blanket, sillies)
--I've been on a sushi-making craze lately. I made some chicken katsu sushi the other night for Connor and if I do say so myself, it turned out pretty tasty!
--Latest and greatest sweet treat? Art City Donuts!!! If you live in Utah and haven't had their amazing donuts yet, YOU ARE MISSING OUT. I pretty much stalk their Instagram every day to see where they are parked so I can proceed to real life stalk them. #obsessed
--I went to my first rodeo this past Saturday at Pleasant Grove's Strawberry Days! I had so much fun and definitely learned a lot about the rodeo world. We also made a new friend and tried taking a picture with her but she was not having it..... (JK, just another #unintentionalphotobomb)

Hope you're all enjoying summer and this lovely weather!
Tune in tomorrow for another look from my LuLu*s Summer Kick-Off Series!

Cheers.

Today is officially the last day of SPRING!

I feel like spring always gets forgotten about. Everyone thinks it's instantly summer as soon as school gets out and the weather gets warmer, but technically it's not summer until June 21st, aka tomorrow, aka the longest day of the year! Say whaaaat? We are spending tomorrow at Strawberry Days in Pleasant Grove, which I'm really excited about because I've never been to a rodeo before! Is it just me or is there a fair/carnival in a different town every weekend in Utah? I'm totally not complaining though because I loooove carnivals! :)

Anyway, on to this lovely swimsuit! I'm wearing the Drawstring Black One-Piece from Lime Ricki today and I absolutely adore it! It fits me like a glove and the ruffles are perfect for us ladies who aren't as "well endowed" in the chest area. ;) I'm stoked to wear this suit to the beach, lake, and pool all day, every day this summer. I've been on the lookout for a cute black one-piece lately so I'm glad I found this one!

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?

Sunglasses: c/o zeroUV
Earring: Forever 21 [similar]
Necklace: a gift from Rachel from her Japan trip!

Why, Spongebob Squarepants does of course.

Does anyone remember the days when that show used to actually be cute and funny and not....creepy?
I watched a recent episode and it's just not as good as it used to be. Spongebob Squarepants definitely had its prime episodes in its earlier years.

Seriously, being a 90s/00s kid was the best.
Growing up watching Rugrats, All That, Dexter's Laboratory, Pokemon, Hey Arnold!, Recess, I could go on and on! Whatever happened to quality TV shows like those? Nowadays I can't even stand watching two minutes of anything playing on Cartoon Network...

Anyway, sorry about my little nostalgia rant. The pineapple on this cute Style Lately tank just reminded me of little Spongebob and that got me going on reminiscing on the good ole days. When the only decisions we stressed out about was which cartoon we were going to watch on Saturday morning.
Those were the days.

Also, is it just me or are pineapples totally in this summer?
Seriously, they're EVERYWHERE.
and I'm okay with that.
I may or may not have an outfit tomorrow that includes a pineapple tote! ;)
#pineapplesummer

What were some of your favorite TV shows growing up?

Have a splendid dayyyy!

Cheers.
