Wuddddup Christmas Eeeeeeve!

Is it random that whenever I hear the words "Christmas Eve" I think of Eve from Life-Size dressed up in her Christmas outfit? Which BY THE WAY, they're making a Life-Size 2. WHUT. So excited. Can't wait to shine brighter and farther.

If you've seen my Holiday Lookbook video, this outfit might look a little familiar to you! ;) Christmas isn't Christmas without an "ugly sweater" being worn at one point. amiright? I know this adorable owl sweater doesn't technically qualify as an ugly sweater cus it's so dang cute, but it's the spirit of it that counts. :) Although these pictures portray a Winter Wonderland version of Christmas for me, I'm actually having a quite green (and rainy) Christmas this year in Hawaii. It's been 4 years since I've been home for the holidays with my entire family so this will definitely be one to remember!

Have a merry lovely awesome wonderful sweet crazy Christmas, friends!
Love you alllllll.

ps. If you haven't seen my Last Minute DIY Christmas Gifts video yet, watch it HERE!
And if you didn't know, I'm daily vlogging my Hawaii and Japan trip so catch up on those vlogs HERE.

Cheers.

Feeling blue...

Sweater: c/o AMIclubwear
Scarf: Forever 21 [buy one get one free right now!]
Leggings: Madewell
Socks: c/o Aeropostale
Boots: c/o Ariat

...Don't worry, I mean the color not the feeling ;)

I was looking back on my recent blog posts and I noticed that I don't really wear the color blue a lot. I mean, technically I shy away from colors in general and when I do add color, it's a pop of red or maroon, but the color blue apparently doesn't exist in my wardrobe... until now.

This blue sweater cardigan from AMIclubwear makes all the other blue sweater cardigans run home crying to their mommy. Yeah, I went there. The knit is blue, the buttons are blue, even the faux fur lining inside is bluer than blue. If I'm going to wear a color I hardly ever wear on my blog, I might as well do it with a BANG, right? Plus, the warm-ness of this sweater is beyond belief. It was freezing that day I took these pictures but I was staying nice and toasty thanks to Mr. Bluey. It's got the thickness of a wool coat but the coziness of a sweater.

Also, is it just me or does my hair look extremely redder than usual in these pictures?
Don't know if it's the lighting, the blue-ness of my wardrobe, or the amazingness of my hairdresser, Kaity.
It's probably definitely the last one.

One more thing.
Yesterday I re-discovered the beautiful fact that Steve Carell was the neighborhood cop in the classic and highly rated film, Sleepover.
Like, WHAT?
I love it when you learn that your favorite actor or actress was in a movie you watched forever ago and you had no idea at the time.
Oh, Neighborhood Cop Steve.....
You have no idea the success the future has in store for you.

So good.

Cheers.

The jacket of all jackets.

Jacket: c/o Cotopaxi
Top: c/o The Shopping Bag
Scarf: Forever 21
Jeans: c/o Pink Blush
Boots: c/o Ariat
Earrings: c/o Song Yee Designs

I did a videoshoot with Cotopaxi a few weeks ago and got to wear this nifty Bengal Waxed Canvas Jacket and I FELL. IN. LOVE. Everything about it is perfect. The color, the fit, the insulation, the quilted lining, and of course the secret little interior pocket that you can stash candy in. And if there weren't enough reasons to love it, every jacket purchased provides one cancer treatment via Radiating Hope. I mean, it's a jacket that treats cancer, whatttt??? How can you not love it? It is indeed the jacket of all jackets.

Anyway, I was sad when I had to give it back at the end of the shoot because it was just a loaner, but super ecstatic when Cotopaxi sent me my very own Bengal Jacket a couple weeks later! They're the best guys, check them out.

On another note, this grey tee I'm wearing from The Shopping Bag is oh so, super duper, comfy! Plain tees are always essential when it comes to layering, and a lot of layering will go on in the months to come sooooo therefore, having the perfect tee is key! Right now, The Shopping Bag is offering 25% off your order using the code: AUTEURARIEL so it's the perfect excuse to buy yourself your own comfy grey tee! Do it, do it.

Also, can I just say that you guys are the best?
Your kind words and support is what keeps me going on this blog.
Seriously, I love you all.

Cheers.

Perfect Fall Boots + Ariat

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Ariat.

Boots: c/o Ariat

Jacket: c/o SWELL
Pants: PacSun [similar]

Last Fall, I had the amazing opportunity to work with Ariat, one of my favorite companies (view that post here). This year, I am so excited to be working with them again and this time, sporting their cute Bristol Boots!

In case you're not familiar with Ariat, let me give you a quick rundown. Ariat is an American footwear brand with an equestrian heritage. Since 1993, Ariat has designed technically advanced footwear for top equestrian athletes. Throughout the years they've grown to make equestrian-inspired fashion footwear, leveraging their heritage and authenticity to appeal to a mainstream consumer--like me! I am in no way an equestrian athlete (the last time I rode a horse was over 4 years ago and I was terrified), but I am a lover of boots, making me a lover of Ariat!
Their Fall 2014 collection is inspired by vintage equine culture. It blends classic details and hardware with distressed leathers and artisan elements, resulting in a unique styling and design that pays tribute to both English and Western. For example, the Bristol Boots I'm wearing today marries the rugged flair of an engineer boot with the refinement of an English silhouette! It's like a match made in heaven!

When it comes to boots, I have three major requirements: quality, comfort, and style.
Ariat excels in all three of those categories!
Just by looking at these boots I could tell that they were made of quality material and when I put them on for the first time, they fit nice and snug. The leather on these boots are thick so they keep my feet nice and warm during those chilly nights! I wore them to a bonfire the other night and even though the rest of my body was freezing, my feet stayed nice and toasty thanks to these babies. Not only do they look good, but they feel good. Ariat boots are built with ATS technology--a gel-cushioned footbed with a heel stabilizer that delivers support, rebound, and stability. Meaning you can wear them all day, every day!

I love the versatility of these Bristol Boots! I can wear them with leggings, jeans, dresses, and skirts, making them the ultimate super boots for this upcoming Fall season! Today I paired them with some camo pants and a navy cargo jacket from SWELL, creating a fun outfit, perfect for exploring and adventuring! These boots fit right into my closet and I can't wait to wear them with the rest of my Fall wardrobe!

Bring on the Snow

Monday, December 9, 2013

Coat: c/o Oasap
Scarf: H&M [similar]
Boots: c/o Ariat
Bag: c/o LuLu*s
Leggings: Jane

HELLO SNOW! HOW ARE YOU? YOU'RE DOING GOOD? GREAT!
now please leave.

I know, I'm so rude to snow. What can I say? I'm from a place where 65 degrees is freezing.
HOWEVER, despite the bitter cold and slippery roads that snow brings, it does make pictures look amazing. If snow didn't come with a temperature that makes my fingers freeze off, I wouldn't mind it snowing year round. truth.

So how do I deal with this beautiful, yet evil white powder? Simple, with a nice, thick, quality coat! This Must-Have Coat from Oasap is not only adorable, but it's super warm because of the fleece-lining! Check out how cozy that looks in the picture right above! Seriously, I don't know how I did it before without fleece-lining. I even have a coat from H&M that has fleece-lined POCKETS. My hands will never freeze to death ever again. For real my friends, even if you need to splurge a bit to get a good thick coat, it's sooooo worth it if you want to survive comfortably this winter (especially in Utah). Check Oasap out for a great selection of winter coats!
