Giraffes on Giraffes

A little while ago I took these outfit pictures and totally spaced on posting them! Whoops! So here's kind of a throwback for ya back when the trees around town were still looking Springy. This adorable giraffe tunic is just about the comfiest thing everrrr. Although I probably wouldn't wear it right now in this blazing hot heat, as soon as the weather cools down it'll be my favorite go-to piece again! Also, since the tunic itself has giraffes all over, I couldn't help but add ANOTHER giraffe with my necklace. ;) Nothing wrong with a giraffe overload, amiright?

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of co-hosting a baby shower for my bestie, Lauren! My co-host, Gentri (who has officially moved back to Utah people!!! Yayyy!!) and I came up with the theme "Dapper Little Man," where everything was miniature-themed! We had mini top hats, mini cupcakes, mini fruit kabobs, mini milk and cookie shots, and more! We had so much fun planning it and even more fun seeing it come to life. It was great seeing everyone who came and being able to celebrate the upcoming arrival of little Baby H. We love you so much already little guy!

Yay for babies!!!

Have a great week everyone!

Cheers.

Spring, you weirdo.

I don't know about you non-Utahns but the weather here lately has been completely INSANE. And I'm not trying to be all cliche and boring and small talk about the weather because I have nothing else to say, because really, the weather here has been straight up crazytown. I'm talking overcast depressed clouds to clear blue skies to sudden hurricane to hail attack. And that was all in one day. I really don't get you Spring. I really don't. You're as indecisive as I am when I'm getting froyo. I can't never choose just one flavor so I end up getting five different ones and when they all inevitably mix together the results aren't pretty. Don't be Ariel in a froyo store. Just don't.

Because of this bipolar weather, I decided to share a cozier Spring outfit with you today! You can never go wrong with beanies and scarves when trying to stay a little warm throughout the day. I've also just been in an overalls mood lately so I had to pull these babies out from my closet! If there is one thing that living in Utah has taught me, it's that you should never completely pack away your winter clothes because you never know when there'll be a freak storm in the middle of May.

Also, if you're digging my Daniel Wellington watch and want one for yourself, make sure you use the code ARIELHN for 15% off all products until May 31, 2015! Also, with every watch purchased, you can choose a free NATO wristband! Check out their amazing collection here.

Have you guys seen Pitch Perfect 2 yet?
It was acca-perfect if I do say so myself.

Cheers.

Flower Child

I'm back from Hawaii!!

I made it just in time to celebrate Connor's birthday on Tuesday and boy am I jet laggggggggged. Hawaii is only a four hour time difference from here but when you spend the whole day (and night) traveling and sitting on planes, it really takes it out of you. Not to mention I took the red eye back to the mainland and I'm extremely bad at sleeping on planes so I went 48 hours with no sleep from Monday to Tuesday.

Tuesday was a jam-packed day (in a good way) from the moment I stepped off the plane! Since it was Connor's special day, we ate lunch at our favorite restaurant in Lehi, I surprised him with a couples massage (which was AMAZING after a 5-hour plane ride btw), met with some friends for dinner at Tucanos, and had a little shindig with ice cream cake with even more friends back at our apartment. It's pretty safe to say that I am completely wrecked (physically and mentally) and I'll be taking the rest of this week to recover from the craziness.

Speaking of crazy, how are we liking my flowers on flowers on flowers outfit today? I mean, I figured I already had flowers on my dress, I had to add the floral crown to complete the look. If only I had floral printed heels, right? (no just kidding, that would be a mile past too much) I know florals for Spring are super overrated but I can't help fill my wardrobe with floral dresses, floral tops, and floral everything whenever warm weather starts creeping around! Before we know it it'll be swimsuit season and Summer will be in full swing! Can't wait!

Hope you've all been having an amazing week!

Yesterday I woke up at 11am so I'm shooting to wake up by 10am today.
Baby steps guys, baby steps.

Cheers.

Florals? For Spring?

.....Groundbreaking.

Although it's officially Spring, the weather here has been SO bipolar lately! One day I'm keeping all the windows in the house open so I don't get heatstroke, and the next I'm huddled up my blanket trying to keep my toes from freezing off. I mean at one point this week it SNOWED. I'm so confused. I so desperately want to start wearing Spring apparel but for some reason stepping outside in shorts and sandals doesn't seem like a logical idea. So I guess I'll just settle for the middle and wear sweaters with floral print on them for now.

Speaking of floral sweaters, the one I'm wearing today is from the one and only Pink Blush! Right now they have an AMAZING spring collection in their store so if you're in a location where warm weather is an ongoing thing, I suggest you shop away! And even if you're still freezing your toes at the moment like I am, I would still shop away for those warmer days to come. ;)

Stock up on those florals!
Miranda would be so impressed.

Have an amazing Thursday, friends!

Cheers.

Real Talk...

Oh hai there Internet.
Remember me?

Yassss, I've been quite skimpy on my posts recently. But I'm not going to make up a lame excuse as to why I've been away. Honestly? I just needed a break. Simple as that.

Real talk.
A few weeks ago I hit that point in my "blogging career" where I wasn't enjoying what I was doing as much as I used to. Blogging started to feel more like a obligation than it did a passion/hobby. I would wake up in the morning and--I hate to say it--dread having to put a post together that day. I started having the same feeling I used to have with doing homework. I kept putting it off and procrastinating and that's when I knew I had to take a little step back. I don't want blogging to become a chore. I don't want to dread it because it really is and will always be a passion of mine! Hence, the little break. Any fellow blogger pal of mine would agree that taking a break every once in a while helps clear the mind and cleanse the palette. So just bear with us when we drop off the face off the blogosphere. I promise, most of the time we come right back, refreshed and better than ever. Plus, even if we aren't posting on our blogs, we are usually still pretty active on social media, so there's that. :)

Just remember that I adore you all!

ALSO, I've recently been re-watching Gossip Girl and I completely forgot Hilary Duff is in a chunk of episodes. Much less, in a scandalous scene with Dan and Vanessa. Har har.
I was like, oh hey there Lizzie.

Have an amazing Wednesday!

Cheers.

Married people should still date

Tuesday, December 16, 2014

Sweater: c/o Pink Blush
Leggings: c/o Pink Blush
Boots: c/o LuLu*s
Necklace: c/o Pink Blush
Earrings: c/o Pink Blush

Although most of our nights are spent lying on the couch watching Netflix and eating leftovers (those Crock-Pot meals last us the whole week, whoop whoop), us married folk still go out on real dates from time to time! Who knew, right?

Connor planned a whole date night for us last night that involved me not knowing where we were going and actually getting dressed up (as opposed to our usual sweats-attire). We ended up getting dinner from this Hawaiian restaurant in Lehi, grabbed some hot chocolate from Starbucks, and went to see the Tree of Life! The Tree of Life is a huuuuge tree in Draper that is decorated with over 1,000 strands of lights. It was gorgeousss! I love outrageous Christmas light displays so naturally I was in awe.

I feel like in order to keep a marriage healthy and strong, you still have to date each other. I don't want to get all "listen to me cus I know all about marriage and stuff blah blah blah" because I am nowhere near qualified to give marriage advice to anyone, but if I had to share one thing I've learned in the past two years, it's that. Dating is so important because it takes away the comfort of being in your own home and being glued to electronic devices. It brings you back to your dating days when you felt excited and giddy because you were on a date with someone you really liked.
Dating keeps the marriage flame alive. (:

So go on that long overdue date with the love of your life!
Dooooo it.

The Tree of Life!
and Samson third-wheeling it like a boss...

Cheers.
