The comfiest dress ever

Friday, August 1, 2014

Dress: c/o Gypsy Threads
Head Wrap: c/o Gypsy Threads
Purse: c/o Gypsy Threads
Heels: c/o Prima Donna
Necklace: J. Crew Factory (anniversary gift from Connor)

What's the comfiest piece of clothing in your closet?
For me, it's this dress I'm wearing today from Gypsy Threads!

I never thought I'd be saying that a DRESS is the comfiest thing I own, but Gypsy Threads proved me wrong when they sent me this lovely Newport Tee Shirt Dress! It's free flowing and loose so I can chow down without worrying about my food baby showing. It's versatile so I can wear it to the beach, a party, and on date night all in the same day. It twirls like a dream so I can prance and dance in it all I like (the best part in my opinion). Normally I want to change out of my dresses the moment I get home but with this dress, I could wear it all day, errrrrday.

This dress...
...is too legit to quit.

Mint Twirl

Dress: c/o Oasap
Shirt: Forever 21
Heels: c/o Prima Donna
Flower Crown: c/o LuLu*s
Bracelet: c/o Skinny Pig Designs

Despite the misleading title, today's post has nothing to do with toothpaste and everything to do with this fresh look featuring a mint dress! ;)

This mint chiffon dress from Oasap is so flowy and fun, I can't help but twirl in it every time I wear it (I know I say that about a lot of my dresses, haha)! It's perfect to wear to church, a barbecue, or a girls day out! I love outfits that embody summer and I feel like this one does just that. The color mint really has that "fresh" look to it so it's perfect for anytime you want a look that's light, fresh, and fun! If you want to look even more fresh, adding a flower crown to your outfit always helps. :)

Has anyone been watching the World Cup? I'm actually not much of a soccer fan but Connor had one of the games on the other day and I was just soooooo intrigued with how there are more flops and bad acting than actual soccer playing during the games! I knew that soccer players sometimes fake injuries to waste time and get players carded, but I didn't know how OFTEN it happened! It was actually quite entertaining.

Below is one of my favorite flops ever.

This guy should get an Oscar.

ps. Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian friends out there!

Cheers.

Necklace: c/o Pieces To Peaces
Dress: borrowed from Amy [similar]
Purse: c/o Dress Up [similar]
Heels: c/o Prima Donna

Hello, hello!
As you can tell by my post title, I'm being a Kate Sanchez and calling myself out on the fact that I've worn this variation of an outfit more than once on my blog (and IRL). View one I wore last summer here and one more recent here. I can't help it! There is something about spring and summer that brings out the white lace top + mint/seafoam chiffon skirt combination! In today's outfit, I borrowed a dress from my BFF Amy that already had the pair pre-made! ;) Also, I added this adorable Turquoise Gypsy Stone Necklace from Pieces to Peaces that really makes a statement. Maybe this is just a sign that Seafoam Summer 2014 is just around the corner? I hope so!

I mean, if you've got a favorite outfit, why not wear it again and again right?
Kate Sanchez, eat your heart out.

Anyway, hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend!
If you follow my Instagram, you already know that I spent my weekend camping with some friends!
We had some back luck on Saturday with the weather, but it began finally clearing up and it ended up being beautiful on Sunday!
I'll be posting all the lovely pictures of us and our pets (Samson came along and our friends brought their cat. yes, their CAT haha) enjoying the outdoors this coming weekend so look out for that!

For now, here is a sneak peek of an amazing hike we went on!
I spy a little stowaway in my backpack! ;)
Also, we almost got hit by lightening 10 minutes after we took this picture, but more on that later. . .

Lurvvvvv you all!

Cheers.

I'm bringing velcro back.

Heels: c/o Prima Donna
Top: H&M [similar]
Kimono: H&M
Flower Crown: Claire's

It's true.
I'm bringing velcro back.
and velcro is sexy.
Hence,
I'm bringing sexy back ;)

JT would be proud.

But on a serious note, these Capri Chunky Heels in Chestnut from Prima Donna have a VELCRO ankle strap--in lieu of a buckle strap--and they are awesome. I'm pretty sure the last time I had velcro as a way to secure the shoes on my feet was in 3rd grade. Major nostalgia hit when I put these heels on!

Feeling young again is something I'm in desperate need of right now. Yes, I am technically only 22 years old, but the whole graduating-from-college-and-having-to-become-a-big-girl-now stage I'm at is making me miss the days where the only concern I had was what tree I was going to climb that day.

Anyway, besides the fact that the velcro on these heels give me flashbacks of my childhood, the velcro makes them my new favorite pair of heels to wear because it is so easy to put on and take off! Sometimes I spend 5 minutes just trying to adjust those dang buckles on ankle straps! With these heels, my feet can be ready in 5 seconds (instead of minutes), and they come off in a jiffy. Get yourself a pair from Prima Donna because these babies are suh-weet. They also come in Cayenne and Black!

On a side note:

MY PARENTS ARE FINALLY HERE IN UTAH!
They flew in yesterday along with my Aunt! I haven't seen them in almost a year aaaaand it's their first time back in Utah since they left for Japan 28 years ago!!! It's kind of cute that they're back in the town where they met and fell in love. Lots of ooooh-ing and ahhhh-ing on the car ride home from the airport. Apparently a lot has changed since 1986 . . . . .

Me and mumsy. I obviously get my looks from this pretty lady.

Another thing to note:

I'M GRADUATING FROM COLLEGE TODAY.
Well, technically I'm officially graduating tomorrow. Today is the big commencement where ALL the graduates of BYU file into the stadium and we listen to an important person tell us to go out and change the world. But tomorrow is the actual convocation for my specific college/major where I get my name called and I get to shake people's hands and stuff.

These past couple days have seriously been a whirlwind. Things are happening so fast and honestly, I just need time to slow down a bit so I can really enjoy these little moments. I'm afraid I'm going to blink and suddenly my parents will be back in Hawaii and I'll be job-less. I'm going to just take a ton of pictures because I heard somewhere that those last longer. . . . .

Cheers.
