Got my comfy pants on.

Friday, June 13, 2014

Top: c/o Dress Up
Pants: Forever 21 c/o Coupons.com
Sandals: c/o Mindy Mae's Market
Purse: c/o Red Buffalo Trading
Bracelets: c/o Red Buffalo Trading
Watch: c/o Feral Watches
Earrings: a vendor at Venice Beach

There's nothing like a laid-back, feel-good, comfy-cozy outfit for the summer (and weekend)! This is my take on that genre of fashion because I'm such a sucker for clothes that not only look good, but feel good. :) I absolutely love these harem pants because they always fit perfectly, so matter how bloated I'm feeling that day. Also, these sandals from Mindy Mae's Market are probably my new favorite footwear! They not only look cute, but don't leave any nasty blisters on my feet after a long day of wear and tear. They're perfect for summer and I can't wait to wear them on all the adventures awaiting this season!

Hope you guys have some exciting plans for the weekend!
If any of you live in Utah, you should definitely hit up Hokulia Shave Ice!
I'm obsessed with their shave ice because they make them just like they do back home in Hawaii--I may or may not have gone like 4x this week already...
And that's when you know it's good. :)

Doesn't my hair look blonde in this picture?
I feel like my hair is getting lighter every day! So odd...

Oh, and Happy Friday the 13th. Bleah.

Cheers to the weekend!

Samson gets stage fright.

Wednesday, June 11, 2014

Today, I'm guest posting on Mindy Mae's Market's blog--woohoo! Check out my post HERE. I'll be posting the same outfit to my blog sometime soon, so check back later for more details on that! xx

Scarf: c/o Gypsy Threads
Vest: c/o Aeropostale
Skirt: c/o Dress Up
Boots: PacSun [similar]
Watch: c/o Feral Watches

We've been trying our best to potty train little Samson since we got him--sometimes when we taxi him to his puppy mat he goes, but a lot of the time he doesn't--he just sits there and looks at us with those puppy dog eyes. Last night, as I was late night blogging in bed, I watched him wake up, trot over to get a sip lap of water, then proceed to pee.....on his puppy mat!! All by himself, without any help or guidance from us--in fact, I don't even think he knew I was still awake.

We've come to the conclusion that Samson just gets stage fright.
I mean, let's be real. I'd get stage fright too if someone was always watching me doing my business! Nobody likes to perform under pressure you know? It just sucks because we know he knows where to use the bathroom, he just chooses not to go there when we're watching him--only when we're not watching him. So the question is, do we just stop watching him? Nahhhh.

Samson, you sly dog, you.

On a side note, how did everyone like last night's Pretty Little Liars summer premiere?
I had mixed emotions about it (as always) but I'm interested to see what life will be like in Rosewood now that Ali is officially back and out of hiding. It looks like Mona'a army will be a force to be reckoned with.

Also, I just discovered that PLL will be renewed for TWO MORE SEASONS.
Meaning we will keep having questions for another 5 years probably.
Ugh.
PLL WHY YOU DO THIS TO MEEEEEEEE???

Cheers.

A Spring Affair w/ Feral

Monday, June 2, 2014

Watch: c/o Feral Watches
Cardigan: c/o Aeropostale - Bethany Mota Collection
Top: c/o SWELL
Skirt: c/o Dress Up
Heels: c/o Lime Lush Boutique
Flower Crown: Claire's

I know it's the second day of June but since summer doesn't officially start until the 21st we can still celebrate spring right?

I've been obsessed with Feral Watches for quite some time now so I was so excited for a chance to work with them! I'll admit, I may or may not be having a spring affair with them, due to the fact of how much I love their watches, especially The Jane. I'm wearing The Jane in Brown in today's outfit and it's my newest favorite accessory! It goes with everything and anything--you can dress it up or dress it down. I love it because it's not your typical "plain Jane" watch. This vintage inspired double-layer wrap-style watch has a fine balance of class and boldness. Not only do Feral Watches look amazing, but of course they're practical because they'll help you arrive anywhere stylishly on time OR fashionably late. (;

Cheers.

Necklace: c/o Pieces To Peaces
Dress: borrowed from Amy [similar]
Purse: c/o Dress Up [similar]
Heels: c/o Prima Donna

Hello, hello!
As you can tell by my post title, I'm being a Kate Sanchez and calling myself out on the fact that I've worn this variation of an outfit more than once on my blog (and IRL). View one I wore last summer here and one more recent here. I can't help it! There is something about spring and summer that brings out the white lace top + mint/seafoam chiffon skirt combination! In today's outfit, I borrowed a dress from my BFF Amy that already had the pair pre-made! ;) Also, I added this adorable Turquoise Gypsy Stone Necklace from Pieces to Peaces that really makes a statement. Maybe this is just a sign that Seafoam Summer 2014 is just around the corner? I hope so!

I mean, if you've got a favorite outfit, why not wear it again and again right?
Kate Sanchez, eat your heart out.

Anyway, hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend!
If you follow my Instagram, you already know that I spent my weekend camping with some friends!
We had some back luck on Saturday with the weather, but it began finally clearing up and it ended up being beautiful on Sunday!
I'll be posting all the lovely pictures of us and our pets (Samson came along and our friends brought their cat. yes, their CAT haha) enjoying the outdoors this coming weekend so look out for that!

For now, here is a sneak peek of an amazing hike we went on!
I spy a little stowaway in my backpack! ;)
Also, we almost got hit by lightening 10 minutes after we took this picture, but more on that later. . .

Lurvvvvv you all!

Cheers.

My guilty pleasure....

Top: c/o Dress Up
Skirt: c/o eShakti
Shoes: c/o Dress Up
Earrings: c/o Pieces To Peaces

. . . is watching awful Reality TV shows.
Guys, I'm addicted.
But before I go into the dirty details on that, let me talk a little about this outfit I'm wearing today!

I went for a tribal-chic look today because I wanted to show off this adorable custom skirt I got from eShakti! eShakti allows you to customize their clothes to your height, size, and style. I customized this skirt to be knee-length and it fits me like a glove! I dressed up the skirt by adding this elegant top (how cute is the design on the back?) and strappy sandals from Dress Up, as well as these bronze feather earrings from Pieces To Peaces. Because the skirt is very dominant with its print, styling it with simple pieces is the best way to compliment it. This outfit is perfect for a Sunday's Best look or a night out with the significant other!

********************

In yesterday's post, I mentioned that I've been binge-watching Toddlers and Tiaras on Netflix. I've always been drawn towards Reality TV, which is kind of embarrassing because I just graduated college with a degree in Film. Meaning, I'm trained to like good, quality shows and movies. But if anything, I've started watching more Reality TV ever since I entered the film program. I don't know if it's because it was a nice break for my brain to watch mindless garbage, or because the drama and "reality" on those shows are just so dang addicting and entertaining! Either way, I'm hooked.

Reality TV is like passing by a car wreck, you know you shouldn't be watching, but you just can't turn away.

It really is my guilty pleasure.
The more "unrealistic" the TV show is, the better. Which is kind of ironic.
I think I keep coming back for more because the producers of those shows are just so good at leaving you hanging and craving for more after every episode.
Who is going to win Survivor? How will John Cena react to Nikki Bella's secret? What kind of Catfish will Nev and Max discover next?? Is Andi ever going to find the man of her dreams????

Speaking of Andi, did anyone have a chance to catch the premiere of The Bachelorette last night?

Let me know who your favorites are this season and who you think will win Andi's heart?
Also, what are some of your guilty pleasures or favorite Reality TV shows?
I'd love to hear your answers in the comments below! :)

Cheers.

Meet Samson

Soooooooo, Connor and I got a PUPPY!!!!!

It's been something we've been wanting to do for a while but with the craziness of school and work, we knew we wouldn't have time to stay home and take care of him. But now that school and work is dunzo for me (Connor got a sweet job right after graduation! Yay!), it was the perfect time to get a little furball of our own.

My friend Gentri's sister, adopted the cutest little puppy a while back and when she shared him on her Instagram, I fell in loooooove. So when I was on the hunt to get a pup of our own, I asked Gentri where they got their dog from. I emailed the breeder and they happened to have two puppies available that weekend! It was just too perfect. They drove him up to Provo this past Saturday and voila! We were insta-parents of this little guy.

We decided to name him Samson because Connor wanted to name him after a big, strong figure because he is so tiny and innocent. I mean, LOOK AT HIM!!! He's a toy Australian Shepard--Pomeranian mix and just about the cutest thing I've ever laid my eyes on.

You are my sweetest downfall . . . .
Regina Spektor, anyone? ;)
Samson went back to bed, not much hair left on his head . . . .

He's only six weeks old so pretty much all he does is play hard and sleep hard. Connor is extremely jealous of his life right now. I will probably be featuring Samson A LOT on my blog from now on because I have become a crazy lady who is obsessed with her dog. So hope that's okay with you all! ;)

Our friends own a cat and we really wanted them to get along but as you can tell in the picture above, she's just not really having it . . . .

Which brings me to my outfit today!
When I saw this shirt in H&M, I knew I had to get it because it was just too perfect.

Clutch: c/o Dress Up
Shirt: H&M
Pants: c/o SWELL
Booties: c/o LuLu*s
Watch: c/o Arvo
Necklace: H&M [similar]

"YOU & ME ARE JUST LIKE CATS & DOGS"
always fighting, but always together

Oversized shirts are the best, especially this one. I love dressing them up with skinny bottoms and some heels, giving it an edgy look! This clutch from Dress Up also adds a little more of a dressy vibe to the outfit and I love it because it can also be turned into a purse! Dress Up has sweet accessories (among other things) and even has some similar clutches in coral, mint, and taupe! Check it out for sure.

Hope everyone is staying nice and toasty today!
I say that because the weather has been a bit strange here lately.
It appears to be sunny outside, yet the air is freeeezing.

If your heater is broken like ours is, find a nice cuddle buddy to keep you warm.
I've got mine right here :)
