Everyone else is always early

Thursday, July 31, 2014

Jeans: Bullhead
Jacket: Wet Seal [similar]
Headband: Claire's
Sandals: c/o Aeropostale [similar]
Necklace: gift from Rachel [similar]

Today I'm sharing one of my favorite shirts from Mindy Mae's Market! If you're friends with me in real life, you know for a fact that I am ALWAYS late to everything and anything (although in my world, everyone else is simply always early). This shirt is basically the story of my life--in fact, I love it so much, I also have it in white (view that post here)! It's a bonus that it's also super comfy and goes with everything. Today I wore it with an outfit meant for a late night summer bonfire! Next time you're running behind schedule, throw this sweet tee on and when you get to your destination, your shirt will do the talking for ya. ;)

***************************

I've been spending the past week up in Seattle visiting Connor's family and it has been amaaaaazing. Seattle/Issaquah has become one of my favorite places and it's been on my "let's move here one day" list for a while now.

The summers here are particularly lovely because it's SO. INSANELY. PRETTY. The green trees + gorgeous lakes + summer sun = paradise. Yes, this is coming from a girl who was raised in Hawaii. You'll probably shake your head when you read this but I actually prefer lakes over the ocean (only when it comes to swimming--I am still obsessed with that ocean air). I think it's the fact that it's fresh water rather than salt water so I don't feel dirty and sticky whenever I come out from swimming. Connor's fam has a boat we take out whenever we visit and it's probably my favorite summer activity to do while up here.

The little lake above is a 5 minute walk from Connor's house.
Yes. I'm jealous too.

 Cheers.

A Spring Affair w/ Feral

Watch: c/o Feral Watches
Cardigan: c/o Aeropostale - Bethany Mota Collection
Top: c/o SWELL
Skirt: c/o Dress Up
Heels: c/o Lime Lush Boutique
Flower Crown: Claire's

I know it's the second day of June but since summer doesn't officially start until the 21st we can still celebrate spring right?

I've been obsessed with Feral Watches for quite some time now so I was so excited for a chance to work with them! I'll admit, I may or may not be having a spring affair with them, due to the fact of how much I love their watches, especially The Jane. I'm wearing The Jane in Brown in today's outfit and it's my newest favorite accessory! It goes with everything and anything--you can dress it up or dress it down. I love it because it's not your typical "plain Jane" watch. This vintage inspired double-layer wrap-style watch has a fine balance of class and boldness. Not only do Feral Watches look amazing, but of course they're practical because they'll help you arrive anywhere stylishly on time OR fashionably late. (;

Cheers.

I'm bringing velcro back.

Heels: c/o Prima Donna
Top: H&M [similar]
Kimono: H&M
Flower Crown: Claire's

It's true.
I'm bringing velcro back.
and velcro is sexy.
Hence,
I'm bringing sexy back ;)

JT would be proud.

But on a serious note, these Capri Chunky Heels in Chestnut from Prima Donna have a VELCRO ankle strap--in lieu of a buckle strap--and they are awesome. I'm pretty sure the last time I had velcro as a way to secure the shoes on my feet was in 3rd grade. Major nostalgia hit when I put these heels on!

Feeling young again is something I'm in desperate need of right now. Yes, I am technically only 22 years old, but the whole graduating-from-college-and-having-to-become-a-big-girl-now stage I'm at is making me miss the days where the only concern I had was what tree I was going to climb that day.

Anyway, besides the fact that the velcro on these heels give me flashbacks of my childhood, the velcro makes them my new favorite pair of heels to wear because it is so easy to put on and take off! Sometimes I spend 5 minutes just trying to adjust those dang buckles on ankle straps! With these heels, my feet can be ready in 5 seconds (instead of minutes), and they come off in a jiffy. Get yourself a pair from Prima Donna because these babies are suh-weet. They also come in Cayenne and Black!

On a side note:

MY PARENTS ARE FINALLY HERE IN UTAH!
They flew in yesterday along with my Aunt! I haven't seen them in almost a year aaaaand it's their first time back in Utah since they left for Japan 28 years ago!!! It's kind of cute that they're back in the town where they met and fell in love. Lots of ooooh-ing and ahhhh-ing on the car ride home from the airport. Apparently a lot has changed since 1986 . . . . .

Me and mumsy. I obviously get my looks from this pretty lady.

Another thing to note:

I'M GRADUATING FROM COLLEGE TODAY.
Well, technically I'm officially graduating tomorrow. Today is the big commencement where ALL the graduates of BYU file into the stadium and we listen to an important person tell us to go out and change the world. But tomorrow is the actual convocation for my specific college/major where I get my name called and I get to shake people's hands and stuff.

These past couple days have seriously been a whirlwind. Things are happening so fast and honestly, I just need time to slow down a bit so I can really enjoy these little moments. I'm afraid I'm going to blink and suddenly my parents will be back in Hawaii and I'll be job-less. I'm going to just take a ton of pictures because I heard somewhere that those last longer. . . . .

Cheers.

Pretty Pastels with LuLu*s: Look 1

Tuesday, April 1, 2014

I know, I know. "I thought you cut your hair, Ariel!?! Did you get extensions? Did you lie to us???" No worries, folks! I took these pictures for this LuLu*s series BEFORE I got my haircut so it's a blast from the past for the next few days! Just an FYI so you guys don't think I'm a big fat liarrrrrr :)
Top: c/o LuLu*s
Pants: c/o LuLu*s
Cardigan: c/o LuLu*s
Bracelet: c/o Pure Impressions
Ring: c/o Pure Impressions
Watch: c/o Arvo
Necklace: Garage [similar]
Floral Crown: Claire's [similar]
Boots: PacSun [similar]

Well, a new season is upon us and you know what that means...

Another collaboration with LuLu*s!!!

LuLu*s is one of my favorite places to shop online--they always have the cutest clothes that are perfect for whatever season it is! They also keep up with the best trends so they'll always have what you're looking for.

Pastels are perfect for the spring season. I guess whenever I think of pastels, I think of Easter, which is during the spring...soooo, there's that association! :) They're just so fun, bright, and cheerful, which is very necessary after the winter season where dark, muted colors rule the wardrobe. I decided to kick off this Pretty Pastels series with a boho-chic look featuring a cute mint top. I styled the top with a casual pair of chambray pants, a cozy knit cardigan, and of course, a floral crown to round out the boho vibe. My favorite part of this mint top is the super cute crocheted lace design on the back--I failed at taking pictures of it, but if you look at it here on the site, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Check back tomorrow to see the next look in this Pretty Pastels series with LuLu*s!

And of course, a good fashion series isn't complete without an amazing giveaway!
This Friday, I'll be posting a giveaway with a prize that may or may not be a certain amount of store credit to LuLu*s!! Woohoo!

Make sure to tune in so you don't miss out!

Cheers.

Seafoam Summer pt. 2 + Travel Diaries

Sunday, June 30, 2013

Remember when I said I was obsessed with seafoam this summer?
Yeah, I wasn't kidding.
On a shopping trip a few days ago I bought yet ANOTHER seafoam high-low skirt from Forever 21. This one is a bit longer & "flow-ier" than my other seafoam skirt from my last post & I am in LOVE with it!!!

TRAVEL DIARIES:

Today is our last day in Seattle before we jet off to Hawaii!!! I'm sad to leave my in-laws but I'm extremely excited to see my parents (whom I haven't seen in a year)! Here are a few things we've done during our stay here!
We took a family trip to the Woodland Park Zoo! It was my second time there, but it was Connor's 2-year-old niece's first time at a zoo so it was fun watching her be in awe at all the animals. Also, as you can see, I made a new friend!! I named him Flipper.
One of my favorite things to do while visiting the in-laws is to go boating! It was raining the first few days we were here, but on Friday it finally cleared up and it was PERFECT lake weather. (ps. I spy SEAFOAM!)
Another thing I love about Seattle is the fact that my childhood BFF, Diandra lives here now. Whenever Connor & I visit, I always make sure to make time for this beautiful chica. Over the years, no matter where we were living, we always found a way to make our friendship work and keep in touch. I seriously love this girl to death!

So now we are off to Hawaii! Tomorrow we are spending the whole day in and out of airports (the beauty of layovers). But by 9pm Hawaii time, we will touch down in my lovely hometown of Hilo.

Till next time!

Stay Classy.
xoxo.
