More to Love with popchips

Wednesday, April 30, 2014

Thanks to popchips for sponsoring today's post!
All opinions and my love of these tasty snacks are my own. #moretolove

It was my sophomore year of college and I was working at my school's Jamba Juice to make a little spending money. I seemed to always get stuck working the shifts right during lunch or dinner--when the smoothie orders got hectic and my stomach got "hangry." There is only so much smoothie intake you can take daily before your body starts grumbling for something else, so one day, instead of having my usual Peanut Butter Moo'd smoothie for lunch, I snagged a bag of popchips from the display window. I had never tried them before but I saw a good amount of people purchasing them so I knew it must be pretty decent. I opened the bag, popped a chip into my mouth and . . . .

. . . it was love at first bite.

They were crunchy, flavorful, and so yummy! Each chip was seasoned to perfection and they weren't greasy at all like normal potato chips! popchips aren't fried or baked--they're popped, leaving a light, airy texture, full of flavor. They tasted so good, I couldn't even believe that they were half the fat of regular potato chips! I was hooked, and I never went a work shift without purchasing a bag of delicious popchips!

popchips are now sold at over 20,000 retailers across North America and the UK! You can find them in most grocery stores, select Costco locations, and even directly online at the popchips store. Snacking should be a right, not a privilege, and popchips lives by that phrase by creating new packaging that allows bags to be 15% bigger, giving you more chips to love at the same great price. So snack on, my friends, snack on.

I hope you folks liked my popchips love story! I'm a sucker for yummy snacks so if anything is healthy and still tasty, I'm sold. These ranch tortilla popchips shown in the pictures above is probably my favorite one by far!

If you have a popchips love story, enter it HERE for a chance to win the More to Love sweepstakes, which ends on May 31st. Everyone who participates will receive a 55-cents off coupon and a shot at winning a date night package: $500 and 3 cases of popchips!

I'm a big kid now.

Today, I'm guest posting on Mindy Mae's Market's blog--woohoo! Check out my post HERE. I'll be posting the same outfit to my blog sometime soon, so check back later for more details on that! xx

Pants: c/o Tractr
Top: J. Crew--thrifted [similar]
Booties: Forever 21 [similar]
Purse: c/o LuLu*s
Watch: c/o Arvo
Necklace: Wet Seal [similar]
Sunglasses: PacSun

It's true.
I'm officially a big kid.

Today's outfit is inspired by my new "big kid" role I need to should take on now that I'm a college grad! It's a little more sophisticated than my usual looks and I must say, I feel like a grown up in it! ;) I feel like a lot of the time when people hear the words "business-casual," they think that they can never wear anything cute to work again. However, I beg to differ! You can always spice up a simple button-up blouse with some snazzy jewelry, and there is always such a variety of heels you can wear to work, like these taupe booties! Also, if you're working big kid hours, you're going to want to be comfortable all day! These pants from Tractr are not only stylish, but they are extremely soft and comfy! They fit nice and snug to your body without making your legs feel claustrophobic :)

Now that I'm a big kid, I gotta start making big kid decisions!
I'm so excited for this upcoming summer because a lot of great changes are beginning to come about.
Being a big kid can be overwhelming at times, but I'm lucky that I've got another big kid with me to help navigate the next chapter of our lives together.

Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday!

Cheers.

bodysuit, jacket [similar here & here], earrings, wristlet, phone case: c/o Aeropostale
skirt: c/o Dress Up // necklace: Wet Seal [similar] // booties: Forever 21 [similar]

So I know it's only April and technically it's still spring, but now that I'm graduated, it's officially summer for meeeee!!! It's actually the beginning of my #foreversummer because I'm never ever ever getting back together with school, whoop whoop!

Speaking of summer, I'm pretty obsessed with Bethany Mota's summer collection at Aeropostale! That girl has got some serious style! I'm always impressed with people who accomplish so much at such a young age. If you're unfamiliar with Bethany, check out her cute variety of fashion and beauty YouTube videos HERE. The denim jacket I'm wearing today is from her clothing line and I love how it fits nice and snug to my body--you can find similar ones here and here. I'm also loving this floral bodysuit (it's my first bodysuit ever!), because it goes perfectly with this skirt from Dress Up! I've been looking for a perfect peach skirt for a while now and when I saw this one from Dress Up, I fell in love.

Oh, and how adorable is this Panda phone case? It's my cutest accessory yet.

Today is a special day because . . . .

it's CONNOR'S BIRTHDAYYYY!!!!

It's my favorite day of the year because it's the day the love of my life was born into this world. I mean, how can it NOT be my favorite day? I couldn't imagine my life without this kid.

He's my soulmate, my partner in crime, and my best friend.
I fall in love with him more and more every day and
I can't wait to spoil the snot out of him today!!!

Luvvv you hubz.
Can't wait to spend the rest of eternity with you!

Top: c/o Style Lately
Vest: c/o Aeropostale
Pants: PacSun [similar]
Hat: Cotton On [similar]
Necklace: Wet Seal [similar]
Booties: Forever 21 [similar]

. . . . . more issues than Vogue, according to my shirt.
(:

However, now that school is over (forever) I do have one less issue to worry about.

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that I graduated from college this past Thursday/Friday! It's been a crazy past couple days, especially with my family being here and all. I'm trying my best to savor every moment of it because I hardly get to see my parents nowadays--one of the only cons of being from Hawaii . . . . .

I'll be sharing graduation pictures with you all real soon so keep a look out for that! If you want a sneak peek, check out this pretty cool picture BYU featured of me being really stoked about graduating on their Instagram and Facebook. It was kind of a nice graduation present from them--after 5 years of attending college, BYU finally acknowledged my existence. Cool beans. (:

Have a happy Sunday everyone!

Cheers.

The Woman Project: Lauren Conrad

Friday, April 25, 2014

Today, I'm excited to be a part of an amazing post series called The Woman Project! Each blogger participating chooses a woman we identify with and pay tribute to her on our blog by explaining why they inspire us and channel their style into an outfit. I'm all about role models so I think this series is so empowering and fun!

The woman I am inspired by the most, both by her style and accomplishments, is LAUREN CONRAD. I've been a fan of Lauren since she first appeared on the Reality TV show, Laguna Beach. She was a cute, girl next door who was down to earth and had big dreams. She was the underdog--the girl who was in love with a boy she would never end up with. We were able to follow a big chunk of her life via MTV as she moved from Laguna Beach to The Hills. She experienced heartbreaks, job drama, and backstabbing friends. She was so relatable!

It's amazing to see how far Lauren has come since her Reality TV days. She's written novels, founded The Little Market, runs a blog, traveled the world, gotten engaged, and of course created her own line of apparel. It's so inspiring to be able to see a small town girl like her, accomplish so much in her life at such a young age. I love how despite her fame and fortune, she still holds that girl next door persona that made America fall in love with her in the first place.

Now let's talk about Lauren's style. Seriously, this girl is my fashion guru. You guys have no idea how many of my outfits have been inspired by her. I don't think I've ever seen her wear an outfit that wasn't amazingly perfect! I decided to recreate a super cute spring outfit of hers that is one of my favorites.

Above is a side-by-side comparison of our outfits--What do you guys think? I'm the one on the right if you guys couldn't tell us apart (I mean we're basically twins haha I wish) ;)
Keep scrolling down to see a closer look at my inspired outfit, as well as a bunch of my favorite looks by Lauren!

Below are some of my favorite looks on Lauren. She has a love for floral patterns, polka dots, bright colors, and of course, braids! How can you not love this girl's style? I'm obsessed.

The Woman Project series continues tomorrow on my girl, Gentri's blog! I've already seen a sneak peek of her post and you're definitely gonna want to check it out when the time comes. You won't be disappointed.

Who are some women you've drawn inspiration from?
I'd love to hear them in the comments below!!

Have a great weekend, friends!

Cheers.

I'm bringing velcro back.

Heels: c/o Prima Donna
Top: H&M [similar]
Kimono: H&M
Flower Crown: Claire's

It's true.
I'm bringing velcro back.
and velcro is sexy.
Hence,
I'm bringing sexy back ;)

JT would be proud.

But on a serious note, these Capri Chunky Heels in Chestnut from Prima Donna have a VELCRO ankle strap--in lieu of a buckle strap--and they are awesome. I'm pretty sure the last time I had velcro as a way to secure the shoes on my feet was in 3rd grade. Major nostalgia hit when I put these heels on!

Feeling young again is something I'm in desperate need of right now. Yes, I am technically only 22 years old, but the whole graduating-from-college-and-having-to-become-a-big-girl-now stage I'm at is making me miss the days where the only concern I had was what tree I was going to climb that day.

Anyway, besides the fact that the velcro on these heels give me flashbacks of my childhood, the velcro makes them my new favorite pair of heels to wear because it is so easy to put on and take off! Sometimes I spend 5 minutes just trying to adjust those dang buckles on ankle straps! With these heels, my feet can be ready in 5 seconds (instead of minutes), and they come off in a jiffy. Get yourself a pair from Prima Donna because these babies are suh-weet. They also come in Cayenne and Black!

On a side note:

MY PARENTS ARE FINALLY HERE IN UTAH!
They flew in yesterday along with my Aunt! I haven't seen them in almost a year aaaaand it's their first time back in Utah since they left for Japan 28 years ago!!! It's kind of cute that they're back in the town where they met and fell in love. Lots of ooooh-ing and ahhhh-ing on the car ride home from the airport. Apparently a lot has changed since 1986 . . . . .

Me and mumsy. I obviously get my looks from this pretty lady.

Another thing to note:

I'M GRADUATING FROM COLLEGE TODAY.
Well, technically I'm officially graduating tomorrow. Today is the big commencement where ALL the graduates of BYU file into the stadium and we listen to an important person tell us to go out and change the world. But tomorrow is the actual convocation for my specific college/major where I get my name called and I get to shake people's hands and stuff.

These past couple days have seriously been a whirlwind. Things are happening so fast and honestly, I just need time to slow down a bit so I can really enjoy these little moments. I'm afraid I'm going to blink and suddenly my parents will be back in Hawaii and I'll be job-less. I'm going to just take a ton of pictures because I heard somewhere that those last longer. . . . .

Cheers.
