Throwback Thursday: slouchy beanies

Thursday, November 13, 2014

Top: c/o Le Tote
Jeans: c/o Impressions Boutique
Boots: c/o LuLu*s
Beanie: H&M [similar]
Purse: c/o LuLu*s [similar]
Necklace: c/o Style Lately [similar]
Watch: Urban Outfitters

The thing about going through a makeover like changing the color of your hair, is the continuity in pictures. It confuses people when one moment you have red hair and next you have your ombre back. Unfortunately for me, I have a handful of outfits I never got around to posting while I still had my old hair. I figure I would post them on the blog every Thursday, starting a little Throwback Thursday series. That way I can post ombre-Ariel pictures without confusing you all. Yay! :)

I found this mustard beanie in H&M in believe it or not, the men's section! I tend to like the slouchy fit of men's beanies better--I actually like the fit of a lot of men's clothing better. I should really start wearing more clothes that are actually made for women... but then again, I like being comfy so baggy sweaters and slouchy beanies it is!

Have a lovely Thursday, friends!

Cheers.

This ma serious face.

I mean, if I'm wearing a t-shirt that says "Killin' It" I need at least one picture with my serious face on, right? Connor actually isn't a big fan of my "serious face" photos (which is a reason why I don't post a lot of them). Whenever I show him two pictures I'm deciding between to post, he always chooses the one where I look happier. When I ask him why he says my smile is pretty.
#connorgetsagoldstar

Fun fact: I am one of those unfortunate humans who has a serious/angry resting face. If you have one as well, you feel my pain. Basically, when my face is resting/blank/I'm staring off into space, I look ticked off. I don't know how many times in my life I've been asked if I'm okay and I have no idea what that person is talking about. I just have a natural frown on my face and it totally sucks! So if you ever see me out and about and I look like I'm angry, I promise I'm not. Unless I'm yelling at someone or crying, then I actually am angry. :)

Anyway, get yourself one of these sweet Killin' It tees from Style Lately (I got a medium for a looser fit)! They've got a great selection of fun graphic tees that include this cute Girl Boss top and sassy Bye Hater top! Who doesn't want to wear a shirt that says exactly what they're thinking?

Cheers to the weekend, lovelies!

Is it Fall yet?

Top: c/o Style Lately
Cardigan: Forever 21 [similar]
Jeans: c/o Impressions Online Boutique
Earrings: c/o Kelsey's Feathers
Sandals: c/o LuLu*s

As much as I love the beautiful Summer sun, I can't wait for it to be Fall already!
I'm obsessed with boots, hats, layers, maroons and olives, and scarves so naturally, Fall is my favorite season when it comes to fashion!

These past couple of days the weather has been WEIRD in Utah (anybody else agree?). One minute it's hot and sunny and the next minute an angry thunderstorm sweeps through town....and then it's gone in ten minutes. Like can you please make up your mind Mother Nature?

The weather explains my Fall-esque outfit today because of how things have been so unpredictable lately! I'm keeping it cozy with this knit cardigan and boyfriend jeans, but I'm keeping my sandals on instead of boots just so my feet don't get all sweaty (TMI). I'm LOVING these bright feather earrings from Kelsey's Feathers because they add a nice pop of color to the neutral outfit! Seriously how cute are they? And of course, you can't forget this statement top from Style Lately that quotes one of my favorite songs from Pharrell! I know "Happy" is a bit overplayed, but I can't help but feel cheerful whenever I hear it aaaand it's from one of my favorite movies, Despicable Me 2 so I can't not like it. :)

It's hard not to get excited about these little guys.

Cheers.

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?

Thursday, June 19, 2014

Top: c/o Style Lately
Kimono: H&M [similar]
Jeans: Bullhead
Sandals: c/o Mindy Mae's Market
Sunglasses: c/o zeroUV
Earring: Forever 21 [similar]
Necklace: a gift from Rachel from her Japan trip!
Shell Bracelet: c/o Skinny Pig Designs

Why, Spongebob Squarepants does of course.

Does anyone remember the days when that show used to actually be cute and funny and not....creepy?
I watched a recent episode and it's just not as good as it used to be. Spongebob Squarepants definitely had its prime episodes in its earlier years.

Seriously, being a 90s/00s kid was the best.
Growing up watching Rugrats, All That, Dexter's Laboratory, Pokemon, Hey Arnold!, Recess, I could go on and on! Whatever happened to quality TV shows like those? Nowadays I can't even stand watching two minutes of anything playing on Cartoon Network...

Anyway, sorry about my little nostalgia rant. The pineapple on this cute Style Lately tank just reminded me of little Spongebob and that got me going on reminiscing on the good ole days. When the only decisions we stressed out about was which cartoon we were going to watch on Saturday morning.
Those were the days.

Also, is it just me or are pineapples totally in this summer?
Seriously, they're EVERYWHERE.
and I'm okay with that.
I may or may not have an outfit tomorrow that includes a pineapple tote! ;)

What were some of your favorite TV shows growing up?

Have a splendid dayyyy!

Cheers.

Spring Fling w/ SWELL: Look #1

Tuesday, May 6, 2014

Top: c/o SWELL
Fedora: c/o SWELL
Necklace: c/o Style Lately
Heels: Go Jane [similar]

It's time for another collaboration with one of my favorite shops, SWELL!

With spring in full swing, the need for light, yet still cozy clothes is pretty vital. The thing with spring is that the weather is always so bipolar! It could be blazing hot one day, and thunderstorming the next. With that in mind, most of my outfits always include a light, flowy top, like this SWELL Trooper Contrast Back Tee, but I don't pull out the shorts just yet. I keep my bottoms cozy just so I don't freeze to death if mother nature decides to 180 the weather. Also, I love wearing hats, like this Twilight Felt Fedora, so it can shade my eyes on a sunny day, and keep my head warm on a cold day.

SWELL is your go-to shop for your spring essentials this season! They've got a variety of clothes that are appropriate for any type of weather that spring throws at you this season.
Spring can be so spontaneous and wild--I guess they don't call it Spring Fling for nothing! :)

I'll be revealing the second look from my spring series with SWELL later this week so make sure to tune back in for that!

Also, yesterday, the talented Elena from DC in Style posted this awesome sketch that she did of one of my LuLu*s looks from a few weeks ago:
I was so flattered and surprised when I saw this sketch of me on her blog!
She has serious talent and is sooo kind! If you want to see more of her fabulous sketches, check out her cute blog!

Cheers.

I've got issues.....

Sunday, April 27, 2014

Top: c/o Style Lately
Vest: c/o Aeropostale
Pants: PacSun [similar]
Hat: Cotton On [similar]
Necklace: Wet Seal [similar]
Booties: Forever 21 [similar]

. . . . . more issues than Vogue, according to my shirt.
(:

However, now that school is over (forever) I do have one less issue to worry about.

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that I graduated from college this past Thursday/Friday! It's been a crazy past couple days, especially with my family being here and all. I'm trying my best to savor every moment of it because I hardly get to see my parents nowadays--one of the only cons of being from Hawaii . . . . .

I'll be sharing graduation pictures with you all real soon so keep a look out for that! If you want a sneak peek, check out this pretty cool picture BYU featured of me being really stoked about graduating on their Instagram and Facebook. It was kind of a nice graduation present from them--after 5 years of attending college, BYU finally acknowledged my existence. Cool beans. (:

Have a happy Sunday everyone!

Cheers.

Heart of Gold

T-Shirt: c/o Style Lately
Cardigan: c/o LuLu*s
Necklace: Wet Seal [similar]
Jeans: Bullhead
Boots: Wet Seal

This outfit is perfect for a nice, lazy weekend, which I am hoping to have!
Style Lately has a great collection of comfy tees and tanks--like this Gold Heart Top--that are just right for lounging in or going out! And can I just say that this cardigan from LuLu*s is probably the coziest piece of clothing I've ever worn? Seriously, I could live in this thing.

For all you Utah peeps, don't forget that tomorrow at 2pm is the Gap fashion show at University Mall! I won't be walking the runway because I can't really walk like a normal person yet with my bum knee--let alone, walk on a runway haha. But I will be there supporting my blogger buddies that are walking the show! Gap also had us style our own mannequins with their clothes so be sure to drop by their store and check out the outfit I put together! It should be a fun event so swing by if you get a chance--and be sure to say hello if you see me there! :)

Cheers.
