Real talk.
Life has been deceptively busy lately.

It's funny, when you tell people you work from home they just assume that you lay around on the couch all day doing very minimal work. And sure, I am basically on the couch all day but the couch = my office. From the moment I wake up, I'm on my computer working, then I'm either filming or editing a video, running errands, cleaning the house, editing pictures, writing a post, then later cooking dinner, walking Samson, and then Connor's home and we eat and watch our TV shows. Then it's right back to working till I go to bed. I have been blessed to be able to have such a flexible schedule and be able to work from the comfort of my home, but believe me, work-home life is nothing short of busy, busy, busy.

Sooooo I apologize that I've been quite MIA on the blog posts lately! I've been trying my best to balance things out but hopefully you guys can relate when I say that sometimes you just need to step back and take a beat from all the craziness.

I am really looking forward though, to the next few months! Next week we're flying up to Seattle because Connor's younger brother Duncan is coming home from his LDS mission in Mexico! We haven't seen him in 2 years so we're all super excited for his homecoming and to see how much he's grown! It'll also be the first time I'm taking Samson on a plane (and I'll be by myself cus Connor is flying up a few days later than me) so I'm a little nervous but Sammy usually pulls through for me when I need him to so I think it'll be okay. Then later this month is Thanksgiving, then it's CHRISTMAS SEASON, then it's home to Hawaii for Christmas THEN JAPAN FOR NEW YEARS!!! I really am excited for the months to come--yay for new adventures!

Hope you all have a great Thurzzzday!

Outfit on repeat... + MY FIRST VLOG!

Friday, October 16, 2015

Dress: c/o Billabong
Chambray Shirt: Madison & Sixth
Sandals: Entourage [similar]
Hat: c/o LuLu*s
Necklace: Sage Boutique [similar]
Watch: c/o Daniel Wellington

Just like a song, when an outfit is good, you put it on repeat.
I wore an outfit very similar to this one last month on my blog and you better believe I've worn different variations of it multiples times without feeling shame. I mean c'mon, you really can't go wrong with a striped dress + bold fedora combo! This body-hugging midi dress from Billabong is so versatile--it's conservative enough for work during the day and sexy enough to wear out on the town! I'm stocking up on striped dresses (and other striped clothing) this fall and I'm not sorry about it.

Yesterday I posted my first VLOG everrrrr on my YouTube channel!
Two videos in two days. I know. It’s crayyy. I hope you guys are as excited as I am about it! WOOHOO!

In this vlog, follow me, Connor, and my mom as we explore the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City, Utah! I’m been LOVING having my mom here visiting us—it gives us perfect excuses to go do more exciting stuff like this, haha. Also, if you live in Utah and are looking for some fun things to do, check out the Hogle Zoo! Our favorites were the wolves, cheetah, and bat-eared fox (cus it reminded us of Samson). Say hey to the T-Rex for us.

I post videos every week so make sure you SUBSCRIBE to stay updated!

If you haven't yet, be sure to watch my latest DIY Halloween Decorations video HERE!

Also, fun little announcement: Tomorrow we are taking a quick road trip to Arizona for the weekend to attend an award show! I don't want to say much about it quite yet, but I'm for sure vlogging the entire trip so you'll get every little detail about it early next week! I'm planning on posting the vlog on Monday so keep a lookout for it!

I'm so stoked!

Have a great weekend, friends!

Cheers.

Plaid to the Bone

Thursday, October 15, 2015

Top: c/o Modbod
Plaid Shirt: c/o Billabong
Shorts: c/o Aeropostale [similar]
Shoes: Converse
Watch: c/o Daniel Wellington

p-p-p-p-p-p-plaaaaaid.
(duh nuh nuh nuh nuh)

Yes, I went there. We're keeping things punny today.

I'm keeping it super casual today with an outfit I would wear to an outdoor activity of some sort. I'm thinking maybe a day at the dog park, a casual hike up the canyon, and/or power walking around the block. The chilly weather is starting to kick in here in Provo but it's only cold in the morning! Once it hits around noon, it starts really heating up. It's like summer trying to hold on with the tips of its fingers...

I love these Signature Rev Tees from Modbod because they go with pretty much everything. I love how flattering the scoop neck is and the variety of colors it comes in! Also, this flannel from Billabong is the king of cozy. I'm wearing it around my waist because it was quite warm that day but when it's wrapped around my arms and chest, I'm quite warm. The material is so soft and it even has that cool retro 70s vibe to it, no?

Anywho, hope you take on Thursday like a bo$$ and you're plaid to the bone.

It's a fun one, I promise.

Cheers.

Home is wherever I'm with you...

Connor's Shirt: c/o The Home T
My Shirt: c/o The Home T

My Outfit:
Jeans: c/o Aeropostale
Flannel: Madison & Sixth
Shoes: Converse
Watch: c/o Daniel Wellington
Necklace: c/o Made By Maru

If you watch the TV show, Shark Tank, these shirts would probably look familiar to you! The Home T is a company that helps you show off your state pride--stylishly, of course. They have T-shirts, tanks, hoodies, hats, and more for every single US state, as well as international designs including Canada, Africa, Australia, Mexico and France. They even have a Disneyland Home T (because Disneyland is home to a lot of us, let's be real). Their shirts are insanely soft and comfortable, and made right here in the USA! As if they aren't cool enough, they donate 10% of their profits to multiple sclerosis research.

Home to me has always been my little island of Hawaii and Connor is from the great state of Washington. Being from different states makes for an interesting clash of culture for us. Connor is used to large lakes, while I'm accustomed to oceans. I'm used to summer weather all year long while Connor feel at home with the rain and overcast weather. But now that we have both been living in Utah for the past five years, the mountains have slowly but surely become our new definition of "home." I even catch myself saying things like "Well, back home..." (referring to Utah) while I'm visiting Hawaii! But when it comes down to it, once you meet the love of your life and begin a life together, home is really wherever your other half is. :) cue the *awwwwww

Make sure you check out The Home T and get yourself a piece of home you can wear everywhere!

On a random note, I started re-watching Parks & Rec again (for the billionth time).
Andy freakin' Dwyer is forever my favorite.

Have a great Tuesday friends!
and look out for a NEW VIDEO on my YouTube Channel tomorrow! xx

Cheers.

HELLO Fall w/ LuLu*s: Look 1

Friday, September 25, 2015

Outfit c/o LuLu*s
trench coat
dress [similar]
flats
necklace

Watch: c/o Daniel Wellington

WUDDUP FALLLLLL.

It's officially Autumn guys, and I couldn't be more excited!!! I'm a total Fall girl (obsessed with the colors, weather, clothes, errrthang aaand not to mention I was born in October, sooooo...) so you can bet that I'm already pulling out my sweaters from storage and getting them prepped for wear!

Because my favorite season is upon us, I couldn't resist teaming up with LuLu*s to do a HELLO Fall Fashion Series, where I share my three favorite fall essentials! For this first look I'm all about them TRENCH COATS, baby. I feel like trench coats are the perfect fall outerwear because they're not too heavy, and they're not too light--they're juuuuuust right. Also, trench coats are great because you can dress up any outfit with them! I styled my coat today with this gorgeous maroon dress and these boss suede flats. I went for the dressier look, of course, completing the outfit with a sweet statement necklace. You can wear this outfit to work, church, basically anywhere that calls for class. Yay for trench coats!

I hope you liked this first look in my HELLO Fall w/ LuLu*s series!
Tune in Monday for Look #2!

Also, I'm really excited for the end of this series on Wednesday because I'm posting a VIDEO LOOKBOOK of all three outfits! I worked really hard on this video (with the help of my trusty sidekick, Connor) so I'm hoping you guys really like it. Can't wait for you to see it!

In the meantime, SUBSCRIBE to my YouTube channel and check out my latest videos! xx

Have a great weekend, friends!

Cheers.

Just being a creeper...

Tuesday, July 7, 2015

Top: c/o LuLu*s
Overalls: Shopbop
Shoes: Converse via Shopbop
Short Necklace: c/o Song Yee Designs
Long Necklace: c/o Made by Maru
Sunglasses: c/o zeroUV
Earrings: Shopbop
Watch: c/o Daniel Wellington

If you don't know, I'm kinda sorta obsessed with the show Big Brother.
It's not officially summer for me without it! I mean, a reality show that airs three times a week, is filled with lots of trashy drama and twists, has amazing designs and setups for competitions, and the ability to creep on the houseguests 24/7 via live feeds?! How is that not anyone's favorite TV show? So yep, that's pretty much what I've been up to these past couple weeks. Just being a creeper. A socially acceptable creeper. Kind of.

So far my favorite houseguests are:
Liz/Julia -- Mostly cus I want them to make it to where they reveal they're twins and see everyone's priceless reactions
James -- Cus who doesn't like an asian hillbilly
Johnny Mac -- I crack up every time this kid talks because it sounds like he's drunk slur shouting. It's hilarious.

My meh houseguests are:
Audrey -- She has told way too many lies and is part of one too many alliances WAY too early in the game
Da'Vonne -- Don't get upset when you get caught doing something sketchy and people get suspicious. She plays victim way too much.

Do any of you guys watch BB??
If so, let me know what you think of this season so far and who your favorite houseguests are!
I always love gossiping with others about the lives of random people I watch on TV. It's the best.

#teamdonny for life.

Cheers.

Fourth of July Ready w/ Indy Brand + GIVEAWAY

Friday, June 26, 2015

Shirt: c/o Indy Brand
Shorts: Amazon [similar]
Shoes: Converse via Shopbop
Backpack: Fjallraven via Shopbop
Watch: c/o Daniel Wellington
Sunglasses: c/o zeroUV [similar]
Necklace: c/o Song Yee Designs
Earrings: c/o LuLu*s

Yes guys, I know.
Fourth of July is NEXT weekend.
But there's nothing wrong with prepping a little early for it, right? ;)

Especially when this weekend is the last time you can order your America-themed tops from Indy Brand to get them in time for Fourth of July!! If you haven't found anything to wear yet for Independence Day, I highly recommend taking a look through their Local Native Collection. You can choose from the Land of Freedom tee I'm wearing in today's post (which also comes in different colors and tank top form) to this super adorable American Flag tee! But make sure you order by June 29 so you can get your USA on next Friday!

This is the outfit I'll be chilling in by the pool on the Fourth of July. I saw these athletic shorts on Amazon the other day and knew I HAD to get them. Seriously, how cute are they? I'm definitely going to be wearing these all throughout summer--not just on Friday. They're perfect for the pool, hiking, and even working out! My brother-in-law and I are actually having a competition on who can have the better patriotic outfit for the Fourth (hopefully he doesn't see this blog post so my outfit isn't spoiled, haha) and I say I might be giving him a run for his money! He does however, have a matching stars and stripes tank top and swim shorts... so I better step up my game by next week.

Also, I've been seeing these Fjallraven backpacks all over Pinterest lately. It seems like everyone and their dog have them, so naturally I had to get one for myself. Sadly I did not get one for my dog though. Sorry Samson.

Do you guys have any cool plans for the Fourth of July?
The Hamilton family reunion will be that weekend so I'll be BBQ-ing it up with the fambam!
I'm already salivating over all the hot dogs I'll be chowing down on that day. Ahhhhh.

PS. If you haven't yet, be sure to check out my first video tutorial on how to get loose summer curls HERE! :)

Have a great weekend homies!

Cheers.
