Florals? For Spring?

.....Groundbreaking.

Although it's officially Spring, the weather here has been SO bipolar lately! One day I'm keeping all the windows in the house open so I don't get heatstroke, and the next I'm huddled up my blanket trying to keep my toes from freezing off. I mean at one point this week it SNOWED. I'm so confused. I so desperately want to start wearing Spring apparel but for some reason stepping outside in shorts and sandals doesn't seem like a logical idea. So I guess I'll just settle for the middle and wear sweaters with floral print on them for now.

Speaking of floral sweaters, the one I'm wearing today is from the one and only Pink Blush! Right now they have an AMAZING spring collection in their store so if you're in a location where warm weather is an ongoing thing, I suggest you shop away! And even if you're still freezing your toes at the moment like I am, I would still shop away for those warmer days to come. ;)

Stock up on those florals!
Miranda would be so impressed.

Have an amazing Thursday, friends!

Cheers.

Oh hey there camo..... again.
It's no secret that I'm kinna sorta obsessed with camo print. I should stop really, but I won't.

You know those pieces of clothing you get that you instantly fall in love with and want to wear all the time, everywhere? This jacket from Fevrie is one of those pieces. I had already liked it when I saw it online but the moment I pulled it out of the box and put in on, I fell in love. It's loose and lightweight, which is perfect for this sunny but chilly weather we have been having in UT. It's so comfy that I could sleep in it (which I shamelessly do).

I would highly suggest heading over to Fevrie and checking out their amazing collection of clothes and accessories! I'm obsessing over these ombre jeans from their shop right now--they're insanely cute and so unique! To help you out I've even got a discount code to share with you all! Just enter the code "auteurariel" at checkout and get15% off. Happy Shopping!

*****************************************

So I know my post title sounds very..... risque..... but I promise it's real meaning is far from that (hahahaha).

The other day, Connor and I took Samson to a park and for the first time we unleashed him and let him roam around at his own will. I know, I know this isn't a very big deal to most of you puppy parents but Samson has a track record of being naughty and sneaking away from us. Once or twice he has slipped out our door when our backs were turned for like 3 seconds and made his way down to the street--which by the way we live right next to one of the busiest streets in Provo. So naturally from those incidents and my near heart attacks of Samson possibly getting run over, we've been a lot more careful with him being leashed and contained.

It's not that Samson is disobedient. Because he knows his sits, stays, and high-fives like a boss.
Samson just loves people.
Like, REALLY loves people.
He wants to say hi and lick the hands of every person he comes across. And I mean EVERY person.

Anyway, since it had been a while since his last "incident" and he's getting older (he turns one in a month, whaaaaaaat???), we decided to trust little Samson and see how he does..... unleashed.

aaaaand he did great!
He chased us around, explored the trees and bushes, and obediently came running back when we called him. There was ONE time when he spotted a group of people having a little barbecue and joyfully crashed their picnic, but hey. I would have probably done the same thing too soooo I totally get it.

He also made friends with a little puppy named Pinto.
Like the bean. :)
They were too cute together for words.

Oh Samson, you charmer you.

Have a great Thursday friends!

Cheers.

My good side... + GIVEAWAY

Monday, February 9, 2015

Top: East & Lo
Jeans: c/o Impressions Boutique
Boots: c/o LuLu*s [similar]
Hat: c/o Gypsy Threads [40%-75% off the ENTIRE STORE!]
Necklace: Fifth & Mae
Purse: c/o Red Buffalo Trading

Does a "good side" really exist or is it all in our heads?
Like does anyone look at a picture of someone and be like, "Oh man, that's definitely her bad side" or "Wow, that's totally his good side!"? I feel like the only person aware of one's good side or bad side is the person themself. But do you want to know what I think about having "sides?" I think it's a load of garbage. You're all freakin' gorgeous--both sides of your face and all. Don't ever let having a "bad side" think you're anything less than beautiful. :D

But I mean, if I had a gun to my head and I was forced to choose a good side...
I would choose my left.
So if your good side is your right side, let's be friends.
(so we never have to argue about who gets to show off their good side in a selfie hahaha)
(;

The purse I'm wearing in today's outfit is from Red Buffalo Trading and it's insanely adorable! Corlie, the owner of the shop, up-cycles vintage pieces of hand made embroidery into unique handbags, laptop sleeves and pillowcases--how cool is that? She collects hand printed textiles on her travels around the world and uses them to make the cutest little creations! I love everything about her Etsy shop!

Cheers.

Something New...

Jeans: c/o Impressions Boutique
Scarf: c/o StyleGirl
Boots: thrifted
Remember that one time I made a New Year's Resolution to GO somewhere new every month?
Well I tweaked it a bit.
I decided to change it to TRYING something new every month!
And I've kept that resolution...
So far, at least :)

In fact, I tried TWO new things this month!
They're nothing crazy but they're been things I've been wanting to do for a while now and I finally got around to making it happen:

1) I made my first purchase at Anthropologie.
2) I made my first purchase at Lush.

I know they're both a bit silly (based on the fact that they're both about buying materialistic things), but to me it was about treating myself to something nice.
(TREAT YOURSELF 2015--Parks & Rec anyone?)

Every time I hit up City Creek Mall in Salt Lake I always, always walk through Anthropologie. I mean that store is what I want the inside of my future home to look like, sans the people shopping and clothing racks. The only downside is that everything in that store is pretty much overpriced. I can never really justify spending $150 on a refurbished globe that was painted on by acrylics.

But this time around I decided hey, why not treat myself to one thing?
So I did it. I treated myself.
and I do not regret buying it one bit.

My second first purchase at Lush, was an Avo Bath Bomb.
For a while now I've seen pictures on Instagram of everybody and their grandmas using these Lush Bath Bombs. The last time I took a bath--I'm pretty sure I was 5--but let's be clear for a sec. I SHOWER ALL THE TIME. I'm not Britt from The Bachelor, here ;) I just never felt the need or urge to take a long hot bath because I would rather be doing other things. Well. Ever since I started the Kayla Itsines BBG workout program, my body's been aching a lot more than usual. My friend Bri has always told me to try out a bath bomb and I just never got around to it until now.

Let me tell you.
My life is forever changed.
Who knew throwing a "bomb" into a tub of hot water would make me feel more relaxed than I've ever been in who knows how long! I'll definitely be a frequent customer of Lush from now on.
My only regret is that I didn't discover the beauty of Lush sooner.

I guess what I wanted to focus on this month was treating myself.
Everyone deserves to treats themselves to something nice every once in a while, right?
Tom and Donna would agree with me :)

Left: my new candle from Anthro--that I light for a bit every night before I go to bed (I blow it out before I go to sleep, of course)
Right: My set-up to try out my new bath bomb. Excuse my inevitable excess of bottles.

So yep, those are my acts of trying something new for the month of January!
I know some of you found that specific resolution of mine interesting so if you decided to do it yourself, I hope you did something pretty cool!

Have a great week!
Also, it's already February, whaaaaaaaaat??

Cheers.

Because, camo.

Jacket: c/o Billabong
Jeans: c/o Impressions Boutique
Boots: c/o Khombu
Necklace: H&M

Here it is--my first outfit post of 2015 and it features one of my favorite trends: camo!
Billabong's Let It Slide Zip Up Hoodie comes in this camo design, light blue, and heather gray. It's 100% comfy and 100% adorable. You can wear it out shopping, getting lunch with the girls, or just straight up chilling on your couch watching Netflix. After all, it's camo so it can blend in anywhere, right? *winkwink. It's definitely on your list of clothing to get for the new year, promise.

So how's everyone's new year going so far?
Hope you've been able to at least keep your resolutions for the first five days ;)
If not, no judgement.

Also, for those of you who forgot:

THE BACHELOR PREMIERES TONIGHTTTTTTTT!!!

Farmer Chris is taking over and I couldn't be more excited!!!
Especially with what a disaster last season's bachelor was....

It really could not get any worse than Juan Pablo.

Hope you are all tuning in! ;)

Cheers.

California Love

Tuesday, December 23, 2014

Pullover: c/o Billabong
Jacket: c/o LuLu*s
Jeans: c/o Impressions Boutique
Scarf: Forever 21
Boots: c/o Khombu

Despite my misleading post title, I am actually in Seattle (not California) this week for the holidays!

We almost didn't make the drive here from Provo, but a random act of kindness from a complete stranger made this trip possible and we couldn't be more blessed! I mentioned the gist of what happened on my Instagram, but I'll be posting the full-length story on here sometime in the new year. It's one of those stories that restores your faith in humanity.

Now back to the actual meaning behind today's post title: this pullover! As a fan of comfy sweaters, this Rebel Gypsy Pullover from Billabong fits into my wardrobe perfectly. The outline of the bear and California reference makes me dream of a warmer place, so that also helps a ton when I'm wearing it in below 50 degrees weather. Billabong has a variety of these pullovers, including a camo and striped design I absolutely love. Who wouldn't want to stay cozy in these cute sweaters this holiday season? :)

I'll be taking a break the rest of this week from my bloggy to celebrate the holidays with the family. I've got this year's Christmas card set up to post on Christmas day, but other than that, I'll be seeing you folks next week! Have a great holiday everyone!

ps. If you haven't yet, be sure to enter my $75 Song Yee Designs Giveaway!

Cheers.

A Lovely Quilt Coat

Wednesday, December 10, 2014

Coat: c/o Impressions Boutique
Top: c/o Impressions Boutique
Jeans: c/o Impressions Boutique
Beanie: Tai Pan Trading [similar--only $8.90!!]
Necklace: c/o Song Yee Designs
Boots: c/o Khombu

Hey there friendship.
Hope your week's going dandy.
I've spent most of mine re-watching the entire series of The Office for the tenth time (all while working from home, of course), so I'd say it's been half a week well spent.

Today I'm wearing this very lovely quilt coat from Impressions Boutique that's been keeping me warm these past weeks! It's the perfect length, which is nice because the longer the coat, the more of your body it keeps warm (which I'm all about). With colder days ahead of us, it's important to stock your wardrobe with a variety of cute coats to wear! When I first moved to Utah, I had ONE winter coat and it was embarrassing because since I wore it every day, it looked like I wore the same outfit all season long in pictures. Yep. I was an outfit repeater. So make sure you have a choice of coats to wear this winter, especially this quilt coat because it's theee bestttttt (said in a Nacho Libre accent).

Also, these pair of Khombu boots...
If it wasn't so creepy, I'd write a love letter to these babies.
Hands down, the COMFIEST boots I've ever worn in my ENTIRE life.
It's like walking on clouds, guys. I feel like I could run a marathon in them and my feet still wouldn't be sore after (but the rest of my body would collapse). They're faux-fur lined, have a padded footbed, and the heel has a durable rubber outsole so you don't need to worry about slipping in the winter. I really can't stop saying nice things about these boots because they're freakin' perfect!

Anyway, back to binge watching The Office.
Just watched this episode and this part cracks me up every time.

Cheers.
