My good side... + GIVEAWAY

Monday, February 9, 2015

Top: East & Lo
Jeans: c/o Impressions Boutique
Boots: c/o LuLu*s [similar]
Hat: c/o Gypsy Threads [40%-75% off the ENTIRE STORE!]
Necklace: Fifth & Mae
Purse: c/o Red Buffalo Trading

Does a "good side" really exist or is it all in our heads?
Like does anyone look at a picture of someone and be like, "Oh man, that's definitely her bad side" or "Wow, that's totally his good side!"? I feel like the only person aware of one's good side or bad side is the person themself. But do you want to know what I think about having "sides?" I think it's a load of garbage. You're all freakin' gorgeous--both sides of your face and all. Don't ever let having a "bad side" think you're anything less than beautiful. :D

But I mean, if I had a gun to my head and I was forced to choose a good side...
I would choose my left.
So if your good side is your right side, let's be friends.
(so we never have to argue about who gets to show off their good side in a selfie hahaha)
(;

The purse I'm wearing in today's outfit is from Red Buffalo Trading and it's insanely adorable! Corlie, the owner of the shop, up-cycles vintage pieces of hand made embroidery into unique handbags, laptop sleeves and pillowcases--how cool is that? She collects hand printed textiles on her travels around the world and uses them to make the cutest little creations! I love everything about her Etsy shop!

Cheers.

Let's go on a safari!

Top: c/o For Elyse
Shorts: Gap c/o thredUP
Cardigan: c/o Sears
Sunglasses: c/o zeroUV
Necklace: c/o Aeropostale
Sandals: Target
Purse: c/o Red Buffalo Trading
Bracelet: c/o LuLu*s

If I had the opportunity to go on a sweet safari, this is the outfit I would wear. I mean, who wouldn't wear an elephant top and necklace on a safari trip? Not cliche at all, right? ;) I'd probably add some binoculars and a sweet safari hat with a snazzy chin strap and be all set to go.

But on a serious note, how awesome would it be to go on a safari? I've never had the chance to go on one, not even Animal Kingdom at DisneyWorld (which I know wouldn't really count anyway). Whenever I go to a zoo I feel so bad because the animals are all caged up but I feel like it would be amazing to see animals in their natural habitat on a safari! I'm definitely adding that to my bucket list.

Also I typed in "Let's go on a safari" into Google and THIS popped up.
Probably the best discovery ever.

Random side note:

A while back my friend Amy and I got asked to be in a music video for The Moth & The Flame. They're an alternative rock band that's been picking up lots of attentions from touring with Imagine Dragons last year. I completely forgot about it until I came across the video randomly on YouTube! They're not huge parts or anything but if you keep your eye out at 2:06, you'll see a masked Ariel sitting down with devil eyes (and if you wait until 2:10 you'll see me magically go from sitting down to standing up). Amy got a sweet close up at 2:25 and it's probably the best thing ever.

I mean, it's not every day you can say you've been in a music video with your BFF and a wolf.
Also watching this video made me miss my Aimster dear.

Some of my favorite memories are with this girl.
Miss you Amy! Wildcats foreverz.

Cheers.

When in doubt, dance it out.

Headpiece: Cents of Style c/o Jane
Top: c/o Pink Blush
Earring: old
Sandals: c/o LuLu*s
Bracelet: c/o LuLu*s
Bead Bracelets: c/o Red Buffalo Trading

I've always been skeptical about headpieces because I didn't think they would look good on me. However, they always look amazing on other people so I decided to give it a try, I gotta say, I'm loving it! I paired it off with this flowy white blouse from Pink Blush to create a fun, but still casual boho look. I'm bummed that music festival season is over because this headpiece would be the perfect accessory for it! I'll just have to find a concert or carnival to wear it to so I can show it off!

I couldn't help but dance a little bit I was taking pictures for this outfit--this top is too flowy not to twirl in! I'm not the greatest dancer and I only have like 3 signature dance moves (Connor calls one of them The Octopus Dance), but that doesn't mean that I don't like to bust a move every so often (both in private and in public). I'm a firm believer in dancing it out when you're in doubt. Sometimes there's nothing like a spontaneous dance party that'll clear your mind and relax you up a bit!

I was looking at old videos of my friends and I when we were single and crazy (okay we are still pretty crazy) and I came across this dance video we made. Pretty sure it was around Finals Week when we made this video, hence the obnoxious amount of dancing and procrastinating.
I can't believe this was almost 4 years ago! Time flies by so fast.

Anyway, enjoy the dorky 18-year-old version of me makin' a fool of herself.

Cheers.

Got my comfy pants on.

Top: c/o Dress Up
Pants: Forever 21 c/o Coupons.com
Sandals: c/o Mindy Mae's Market
Purse: c/o Red Buffalo Trading
Bracelets: c/o Red Buffalo Trading
Watch: c/o Feral Watches
Earrings: a vendor at Venice Beach

There's nothing like a laid-back, feel-good, comfy-cozy outfit for the summer (and weekend)! This is my take on that genre of fashion because I'm such a sucker for clothes that not only look good, but feel good. :) I absolutely love these harem pants because they always fit perfectly, so matter how bloated I'm feeling that day. Also, these sandals from Mindy Mae's Market are probably my new favorite footwear! They not only look cute, but don't leave any nasty blisters on my feet after a long day of wear and tear. They're perfect for summer and I can't wait to wear them on all the adventures awaiting this season!

Hope you guys have some exciting plans for the weekend!
If any of you live in Utah, you should definitely hit up Hokulia Shave Ice!
I'm obsessed with their shave ice because they make them just like they do back home in Hawaii--I may or may not have gone like 4x this week already...
And that's when you know it's good. :)

Doesn't my hair look blonde in this picture?
I feel like my hair is getting lighter every day! So odd...

Oh, and Happy Friday the 13th. Bleah.

Cheers to the weekend!

Meet my boyfriend...

. . . JEANS!

Connor is my actual forever boyfriend, sillies.

Anyway, believe it or not, these are my first pair of boyfriend jeans I have ever owned! For some reason I just thought boyfriend jeans didn't look very flattering on me so I stayed away all these years. When I saw these pair on Abaday, I decided to get over my insecurities and go for it. Good thing I did because I ended up loving them! I love how comfortable they are and even though they have that "baggy" look, they still look chic. They also go perfectly with this adorable elephant top I also got from Abaday. I've been drawn to tribal print lately so that's why I was drawn to this top, as well as this clutch from Red Buffalo Trading!

Can I just share how PSYCHED I am that PRETTY LITTLE LIARS returns tonight???

I've been counting down the days till the summer premiere the moment last season ended and I'm so stoked that it's finally back! Does anyone know if season 5 is their final season, because I really wouldn't mind if this series finally ENDED. I have such a love-hate relationship with PLL because I'm obsessed with watching the show, yet I hate the fact that they never give you just answers--they always leave you with more questions. For once I'd like to watch an episode (aka the series finale) with ONLY ANSWERS. I just need to know who killed who, who is still alive, who is dead, and who the freak is in Ali's grave (or tomb or whatever it is now) since we all know that *spoiler alert* Ali is officially alive. Don't get me wrong, I loooove PLL, I just am frustrated with it at the same time.

Hope you guys will be tuning in tonight as well!
I'll be celebrating the premiere with my girls by making sushi and getting henna tattoos, woohoo!
#girlsnight #RABLJ

Cheers.
