Yaaaas, the weather is FINALLY warming up over here in UT and I couldn't be more excited! I'm actually usually our ugly swamp cooler in the middle of the living room wall during the day to keep things nice and cool. Although there is a leak in the hose that connects to the cooler which is creating a pool of water on our front porch. The other day when I was signing for a package the UPS man commented, "I think your cooler is leaking..." No UPS man. I'm just in the process of making a moat surrounding our apartment. #thankyoucaptainobvious

Connor and I took advantage of this warm weather and spent a lovely afternoon at Utah Lake the other day! I, of course, decided to sport my recent arrivals from Billabong: this super cute striped swimsuit and sweet pair of shortalls! I've always been a huge fan of Billabong and they never disappoint with their awesome collection of beachwear! I'll definitely be wearing this ensemble a lot this spring and summer so just call me an outfit repeater already. I'm also obsessing over this beach romper and sandals. Get in my closet. Now.

ALSO, I've been drooling over these pair of Chuck Taylors for foreverrrrrrrr and I'm so stoked that I finally snagged a pair of my own! Yayyyyyy.

Samson loved hopping around from rock to rock. We def gotta get this pup on some hiking trails this summer! Also, this ladybug.

Hope you all had a perfect Christmas!

Now that Christmas is over, we've got the New Year to countdown to! New Year's Eve always gets me excited because it's a chance to start fresh and new. All those "I'll get around to doing more of that tomorrow" and "Someday I'll get that done" comes into play for real. I'm still coming up with my list of resolutions that I'll probably share with you all (because it'll motivate me to keep them if I publicize them) but I already have this gut feeling that 2015 will be a good year. Maybe because it's the Year of the Sheep and that's the same Zodiac year I was born in. :) Or maybe because I've got a lot of exciting plans in store. Either way, I know it's going to be a great one.

It's another #TBT with a vintage ombre-Ariel comin' atcha!

This is definitely an outfit for those warmer Fall/Winter days, which I'm seeing less and less of these days. It was a high of 39 yesterday and I was not okay with that... I feel like a good green cargo jacket is essential for the Fall, which might be why I have three of them in my closet, whoops! This jacket might just be my favorite though because it has the coolest little detail of studs on it that give it just a touch of edge! Also I'm obsessed with the combination of striped tops and cargo jackets so I'm feeling pretty good about this outfit right about now...

I now realize after looking through these pictures that I look very, very mad and unhappy in them.

I swear I'm a happy person! I think I was trying to look all serious and cool-like and obviously, it was a complete fail. How about we just stick to smiling in pics, okay Ariel? Okay.

The thing about going through a makeover like changing the color of your hair, is the continuity in pictures. It confuses people when one moment you have red hair and next you have your ombre back. Unfortunately for me, I have a handful of outfits I never got around to posting while I still had my old hair. I figure I would post them on the blog every Thursday, starting a little Throwback Thursday series. That way I can post ombre-Ariel pictures without confusing you all. Yay! :)

I found this mustard beanie in H&M in believe it or not, the men's section! I tend to like the slouchy fit of men's beanies better--I actually like the fit of a lot of men's clothing better. I should really start wearing more clothes that are actually made for women... but then again, I like being comfy so baggy sweaters and slouchy beanies it is!

It's my first outfit of the Fall with a scarf and I could not be more excited about it!

Yesterday I unpacked all my scarves and it was like being reunited with all my nearest and dearest friends. I might have even shed a tear or two. Kidding...but not really. I just really love my scarves, okay? Isn't there that saying.... Scarves are a girl's best friend? Or was it diamonds... ;)

Also, is it just me or has the weather in Utah been PERFECT lately? I probably just jinxed it by saying that right there, but the sun has made a presence almost every day but there's also a little chill in the air which is simply amazing. So for the past couple days, I've been going to sleep at 4am and waking up at 1pm.

It's horrible, guys.

It always takes me like a week to get back on a normal sleeping schedule whenever I travel to and from Hawaii. Here's the thing: I'm already a hardcore night owl to begin with, so when you add jet lag to the mix, it's chaos. It's easier when I travel TO Hawaii because I just sleep earlier and wake up earlier (forcing me to have an ordinary sleeping schedule like a normal person), but when I travel FROM Hawaii, my insomnia spirals out of control.

Wah, wah, wah.

Just suck it up, Ariel.

Samson doesn't seem to mind my jet lag because it means we can nap together during the day...

I know my hair is Medusa-status, my right arm looks amputated, and I'm so classy in my robe, but I couldn't help posting this pic because Samson is too cute for words.

Also, I think I'm addicted to technology?
I promise the second tablet is the remote to our Google Fiber TV.
